Eligibility & General Conditions
General Eligibility: The applicant must be a citizen of India. Only those candidates who have completed the essential qualification for which the result has been declared are eligible. Result awaited/Final semester appeared or appearing/Ph.D submitted etc. are not eligible. Experience, if required, should only be post-qualification experience. Candidates already engaged in CSIR-NPL or any other CSIR lab as Project Staff for 6 years or more are not eligible. A candidate may apply for a maximum of 02 (Two) posts; separate application may be submitted for each post code.
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Women shall be as per GOI rules. Age limit for Project staff shall be as per GOI rules.
Engagement: The engagement shall be initially for a short duration based on availability of funds, extendable/curtailable based on conduct and performance, and shall not be beyond the project tenure. Engagement under projects does not confer any right to regular appointment in CSIR/NPL. Total project staff engagement across CSIR labs shall not exceed 6 years in any case.
Selection Procedure
Eligible candidates may appear for the "Floating (Walk-in) Interview" on 21.10.2026 for Post Code(s) 1.0 to 17.0 and on 22.10.2026 for Post Code(s) 18.0 to 36.0, between 09.00 AM to 10.00 AM (candidates will not be entertained after 10.00 AM under any circumstance) in the Auditorium of the laboratory. If a large number of applications are received, candidates will be shortlisted by a screening committee based on academic qualification and/or experience. Candidates will be free to answer in Hindi during the interview. In case final certificates reflect CGPA/GPA, the candidate should convert to equivalent percentage as per the university's approved formula and attach a copy of the conversion formula.
