- Post Code 14002 – Senior-PAT (1 position, project Valorization of Temple Floral Waste into Industrial Dyes and Leftover for Compost to Boost Circular Economy): M.Sc. Chemistry / M. Pharma. in Chemistry from a recognized University AND 3 years' R&D experience in Industrial/Academic Institutions or S&T Organizations; OR Doctoral Degree in Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Pharmacy AND 2 years' R&D experience. Desirable: Research experience in natural product chemistry or natural colors/dyes.

Age Limit
- Project Scientist/Project Associate/Project Assistant (most positions): maximum 35 years.
- Senior-PAT/Principal-PAT: maximum 40 years.
- Age relaxation: SC/ST/PwBD/Women 05 years, OBC 03 years, or as per Govt. of India instructions.
Emoluments
Consolidated stipend ranging from Rs. 18,000/- to Rs. 56,000/- per month plus HRA (9%/10% as applicable), depending upon the position and qualifications (NET/GATE qualified candidates get higher stipend for Project Associate positions).
Tenure
Engagement shall be on behalf of the sponsoring agency, purely temporary and co-terminus with the tenure of the project or 06 years, whichever is earlier. Such engagement shall not provide any right/claim for regularization for permanent post of CSIR.
Selection Process
Selection Committee(s) may adopt the selection criterion either by conducting direct interview or objective test (based on MCQ) followed by interview on the same day. Number of selected candidates may vary from the advertised positions depending upon performance. No Travelling Allowance will be paid for attending the interview.
Walk-in-Interview Details
- Dates: 18th, 19th, 20th & 21st August 2026 (post-wise, reporting time before 10:00 AM).
- Venue: CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
- Candidates reporting for interview after 10.00 AM will not be allowed to appear.

Eligible candidates may appear for the Walk-in-Interview on the date, time and place mentioned above along with an application on the prescribed format (with latest colored passport size photo affixed) available on the CSIR-IHBT website www.ihbt.res.in, along with self-attested photocopies of their testimonials of age, educational qualifications, experience etc. Candidates must also bring original certificates at the time of interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear. Candidates applying for more than one position code must submit a separate application form for each position code.
General Instructions
- Result awaited candidates are not eligible for interview.
- Request for online interview will not be entertained under any circumstances.
- The performance of project staff would be reviewed after every six-months period.
- The decision of the Director, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur shall be final on any matter relating to engagement.
- No application fee is required.
