CMRL invites applications from qualified and experienced personnel for the following posts on contract / deputation basis from Government organisations. Age, qualification and experience are reckoned as on 23-09-2026.

Experience required (post-qualification executive experience)

• JGM (both posts) – 15 years. Govt: JAG in Railways / equivalent, or EE cadre in State Govt. Metros / PSUs: 15 years with at least 4 years as DGM in IDA scale Rs.80,000–2,20,000. Private: 15 years with 4 years in senior management (= DGM, reporting to top management) in a company with project size ≥ Rs.500 crore or annual turnover ≥ Rs.100 crore in the last 3 years (proof to be uploaded).
• JGM (PMIS): PMIS platform implementation / operation / maintenance, planning & monitoring, progress reporting, cost & financial monitoring, risk & issue management, data analysis; minimum 7 years in ERP / SAP / project-management software.
• JGM (Rolling Stock): operations / maintenance of electric rolling stock in Metro / Railways, tendering & procurement by international competitive bidding, design review, testing, commissioning, depot machines, CMC contracts; conversant with RDSO / CMRS / GoI statutory clearances and contract management.
• DGM (F&A) – 13 years. Govt: 3 years in STS in Railways / equivalent, or CAO cadre in State Govt. Metros / PSUs: 13 years with 4 years as Manager in IDA Rs.70,000–2,00,000. Private: 13 years with 4 years middle management (= Manager) + ≥ Rs.500-crore project / ≥ Rs.100-crore turnover.
• Manager (F&A) – 7 years. Govt: STS in Railways / equivalent, or Accounts Officer cadre in State Govt. Metros / PSUs: 7 years with 4 years as DM in IDA Rs.60,000–1,80,000. Private: 7 years with 4 years middle management (= DM) + ≥ Rs.200-crore project / ≥ Rs.50-crore turnover.
• Manager (Design) – 7 years on the same Govt / PSU / private routes as Manager (F&A), in design of viaducts, bridges, tunnels, metro structures, underground / elevated stations and multi-storied buildings, including minimum 5 years in elevated / underground metro / large infrastructure projects; familiar with STAAD, PLAXIS and Indian & Euro codes.
• AM (both posts) – 2 years. Govt: Assistant Engineer, or 5 years as SSE in Railways / equivalent, or AE cadre in State Govt. Metros / PSUs: 2 years PQE, or 10 years PQE in IDA Rs.33,000–1,00,000 and above. Private: 2 years in junior management + ≥ Rs.200-crore project / ≥ Rs.50-crore turnover.
• AM (Design): design of viaducts, bridges, tunnels, metro structures and stations; STAAD / PLAXIS familiarity.
• AM (Transport Planning): transport planning for mass-transit projects (metro, LRT, BRTS), multimodal integration, CCTS / CMP / feasibility / DPR studies and agency coordination; CUBE / VISSUM exposure desirable.

Deputation terms & age relaxation

• Contract: initially 2 years, extendable on requirement / performance. Deputation: initially 3 years, extendable to 5 years.
• Deputationists may draw parent-organisation pay + 10% deputation and 10% project allowance each, or equivalent IDA scale with IDA, HRA and cafeteria allowance (31.5% of basic).
• Age relaxation: SC / SCA / ST +5 years; MBC / DC / BC (+Muslim variants) +2 years; Differently Abled +10 years; Ex-Servicemen + service length + 3 years; cumulative cap 58 years as on date of notification.
• Benefits on contract: medical & personal-accident insurance, life insurance, mobile reimbursement & SIM and other admissible allowances.

Selection, fee & how to apply

• Selection: interview followed by medical examination (first medical at CMRL cost).
• Application fee (contract type only, non-refundable, via NEFT/UPI to Canara Bank A/c 0416214000030, IFSC CNRB0000416): Rs.300 for Unreserved & others, Rs.50 for SC/ST; no fee for Differently Abled persons.
• Apply online only at the CMRL career portal (careers.chennaimetrorail.org); upload photo, age proof, community certificate, qualifications, experience, NOC (Govt/PSU), fee receipt, resume and applicable clearances. No hard-copy applications.
• Last date for online application with documents: 13-10-2026. Govt / PSU candidates apply through proper channel to hr@cmrl.in and produce NOC at interview. No TA/DA for the interview.
