The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) invites applications for the post of Director (Personnel & Industrial Relations) on the Board of Coal India Limited (CIL), a 'Maharatna' CPSE under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India.

CIL has 12 subsidiary companies, 5 Joint Venture companies, and an overseas subsidiary. The company employs 2,09,809 regular employees. The Government of India holds 61.13% equity in CIL.
Job Description
Director (Personnel & Industrial Relations) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director. As head of the Personnel Division, responsible for formulation and implementation of personnel policies of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries.
Eligibility Criteria
Age (as on date of vacancy)
- Age of superannuation: 60 years
- Internal candidates: Minimum 45 years with at least 2 years residual service
- External candidates: Minimum 45 years with at least 3 years residual service
Employment Status
Applicant must be employed in a regular capacity (not contractual/ad-hoc) in one of:
- CPSE (including full-time functional Director)
- Central Govt Group 'A' Officers / Armed Forces / All India Services / Public Sector Banks / Financial Institutions / Autonomous Bodies
- SPSE with annual turnover of Rs. 10,000 crore or more
- Private Sector Company / JV with annual turnover of Rs. 10,000 crore or more
Qualification
Graduate from a recognised University/Institution. Post Graduate Diploma or Degree in Personnel Management/HRM or MBA/PGDM is desirable.
Experience
Category I (Priority): 5 years experience in HR/IR/Personnel during the last 10 years.
Category II: Minimum 2 years in HR/IR/Personnel + 3 years as functional head of projects/plants with direct responsibility of 1000 workforce.
Category III: 5 years as functional head of projects/plants with direct responsibility of at least 20% of workforce.
Pay Scale
Rs. 180,000 – 340,000 (IDA) – Schedule A
Tenure
Five years from the date of joining or upto the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
