ICAR-CIFE Mumbai Junior Research Fellow Eligibility Criteria 2026
- Master's degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Marine Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Life Sciences or a related discipline from a recognised university
- The candidate must satisfy the applicable CSIR NET eligibility requirements for the Junior Research Fellow position as specified in the project sanction and recruitment rules
- The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates
- Only candidates fulfilling all eligibility conditions will be invited for the online interview; the place of work is ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai
- The position is purely temporary and will end with the termination of the project; tenure and service conditions are governed by ICAR guidelines
- Selection is based on academic performance, research experience and performance in the interview

- Desirable: research experience in seaweed biotechnology, seaweed cultivation, aquaculture, extraction and characterization of polysaccharides and biochemical analysis; experience in antioxidant/antimicrobial assays, shrimp culture, gene expression and scientific data analysis
- Job description: cultivation and maintenance of red seaweed (Gracilaria spp.) and shrimp (Penaeus vannamei), evaluation of biological activities of extracted polysaccharides, water quality monitoring, data collection and analysis, and preparation of reports and publications
