Educational Qualification
Shorthand Writer Grade-3 (Hindi/English)
- Graduation from a recognized university.
- Hindi/English Shorthand examination passed from a recognized Shorthand & Typing Board (as applicable).
- Knowledge of Hindi/English typing on computer.
- Knowledge of Chhattisgarhi (local dialect) expected.
Assistant Grade-3 (Nispadan Clerk, Sakshya Lekhak)
- Graduation from a recognized university.
- One year computer diploma from a recognized board/university.
- Knowledge of Hindi and English typing on computer.
- Knowledge of Chhattisgarhi (local dialect) expected.
Age Limit (as on 01.04.2026)
Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years. For Chhattisgarh mool residents, upper age limit is 40 years. Maximum age 45 years after all relaxations.

Selection Process
Phase 1 – Written Test (50 marks, 30 minutes)
- 25 objective questions (2 marks each) covering General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Maths, General Mental Ability.
- Merit-based shortlisting at 1:10 ratio (all equal marks at cut-off called).
Phase 2 – Skill Test
Shorthand Writer Gr-3 (Hindi/English): Dictation at 100 wpm for 5 minutes (~500 words), typed in computer within 45 minutes; 0.5 mark deducted per error. Typing speed 5,000 key-depressions/hour in Hindi/English.
Assistant Gr-3: Type mixed Hindi & English passage of ~250 words in 10 minutes; 0.5 mark deducted per error. Typing speed 5,000 key-depressions/hour.
Skill test conducted on Ubuntu Linux / LibreOffice.
