The Government of Andhra Pradesh (General Administration (SC.F) Department) has issued a notification for recruitment to ten (10) posts of District Judge (Entry Level) under Direct Recruitment (25% quota) for the year 2026 in the A.P. State Judicial Service. Scale of pay for the post of District Judge: Rs. 1,44,840 - 1,94,660.

Selection against the BC-E vacancy is subject to the outcome of Civil Appeal Nos. 2628-2637/2010 pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
Qualifications
- Practising Advocate for not less than 7 years as on the date of publication of the notification (30.09.2026); OR
- In Judicial service with combined standing/experience of 7 years or more as an Advocate or Judicial Officer as on 30.09.2026; OR
- Assistant/Additional/Public Prosecutors who completed combined standing/experience of 7 years or more as Advocate or service as on 30.09.2026.
- Age: Completed 35 years and not completed 45 years as on 01.09.2026; upper age relaxable by 3 years for SC/ST/BC/EWS.
- Good character; not disqualified (citizen of India, not dismissed/removed, etc.).
Scheme of Examination
Computer Based Screening Test (100 marks, 2 hours) → short-listing in the ratio of 1:10 of the notified vacancies → Written Examination → Viva Voce. Candidates must secure at least 50% (general) / 40% (SC/ST/PwBD) marks in aggregate in the written examination; and at least 60% in aggregate (written + viva) for general / relaxed as per rules. No TA/DA is paid.
