The office of the Secretary, Revenue Servant (Kotwal) Selection Committee & Tahsildar Alibag invites applications for filling vacant Revenue Servant (Kotwal) posts in Alibag taluka, District Raigad under Government of Maharashtra Revenue & Forest Department special drive Kotwal Bharti 2026 (letters पदभ-२०२५/प्र.क्र.९८/आस्था-१० dated 19-08-2026 and 03-09-2026).

Apply in person at the Tahsildar Office, Alibag from 02-10-2026 to 17-10-2026 during office hours (public holidays excluded), in the prescribed format with all required documents.

Eligibility

• Education: minimum 4th standard pass and knowledge of Marathi language.
• Age: minimum 18 and maximum 40 years as on the date of advertisement, i.e. 02-10-2026. This post is unclassified, so no relaxation in the age limit or in exempted categories applies.
• Residence: candidate must be a resident of Alibag taluka.
• Reservation certificates: caste/category certificate and a currently valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate (valid up to 31-03-2027) must be attached. Candidates in the SEBC category must additionally hold a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate from a competent authority dated on or after 29-01-2025.
• Caste validity: candidates without a caste validity certificate must submit an affidavit/bond and produce it within 6 months of the temporary appointment order, failing which the appointment is cancelled retrospectively.
• Parallel reservations not applicable: project-affected, ex-serviceman, sportsperson and physically-handicapped parallel reservations do not apply, since there is only one post per sajja and the post involves field duty in the 1915 area.
• Conduct: no criminal case should be registered against the applicant, nor any punishment in any criminal case. Selected candidates must submit a Character and Conduct certificate from a competent authority within 1 month of selection, take an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India, must not be a member of any political party or organisation, and must not be engaged in any business that hinders or harms Kotwal duties.
• Physical fitness: physical and mental health should be good. Selected candidates must produce a medical fitness certificate from the District Surgeon, Raigad - Alibag within 1 month of selection. No disability reservation is available for this post.
• Residence obligation: after appointment the candidate must reside in the sajja of appointment and submit an undertaking; on joining, a security deposit must be paid under Rule 51 of the Bombay Financial Rules 1959.

Selection Process

1. Written examination of 100 objective questions (50 questions x 2 marks, no negative marking).
2. Document verification of original certificates and merit-cum-reservation list; objections resolved by the selection committee.
3. Appointment letter, followed by joining within the prescribed period.

How to Apply

1. Obtain the prescribed application form from the Tahsildar Office, Alibag for Rs. 50 (non-refundable, cash only, receipt mandatory). Photocopies or forms obtained from any other source are rejected outright.
2. Attach one recent colour passport-size photo pasted and self-signed on the form, plus two additional spare colour photos.
3. Attach the prescribed proforma Small Family Declaration (mandatory - the application is rejected without it); unmarried candidates must explicitly state so on the declaration.
4. Attach attested copies of: 4th standard marksheet/school-leaving certificate, residence proof, domicile proof, caste and Non-Creamy Layer certificate, and any higher qualification certificate. If the name changed after 4th standard, attach an attested Gazette notification.
5. Female candidates must apply in their maiden name; women candidates should attach marriage certificate / divorce decree / family certificate where applicable.
6. Submit the completed form in person at the Tahsildar Office, Alibag on or before 17-10-2026 during office hours. Applications sent by post or e-mail are not considered.
