The Office of the Registrar, Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat-785013 (recipient of the Sardar Patel Outstanding Institute Award) invites applications from Indian citizens for 60 posts in the rank of Assistant Professor & equivalent – 50 posts under the Faculty of Agriculture and 10 posts under the Faculty of Community Science – vide Advertisement No. 4/2026 dated 29/09/2026.

Essential qualifications

1. General essential qualifications (other than Agro-meteorology, Agril. Statistics, ABM, Computer Science & Food Science & Technology): (i) Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Community Science/Veterinary Science as relevant to the post – for Sericulture, a Bachelor’s degree in Sericulture or Agriculture; (ii) minimum 55% marks or MCGPA of 3.00 in 4-point scale / 7.00 in 10-point scale at Master’s level in the relevant discipline (for other scales: MCGPA = 3 + 0.667 × (Scale Point − 4)); (iii) qualified NET (not required where NET is not conducted; waived for Ph.D. holders under UGC 2009 course-credit regulations with at least two full-length publications of NAAS rating 5+ on the last date; NET not mandatory for Agricultural Engineering); (iv) minimum API/PBAS score of 44/80 (General) or 40/80 (SC/ST) for interview call.
2. Agro-meteorology: Bachelor’s in Science with Physics or Meteorology as major subject, OR Bachelor’s in Agriculture/Veterinary/Community Science/Fisheries/Forestry; Master’s in Meteorology/Agricultural Meteorology with 55%/MCGPA criteria, NET and API/PBAS score as above.
3. Agril. Business Management (ABM): Bachelor’s in Agriculture/Veterinary/Community Science/Fisheries/Forestry/Agricultural Engineering; Master’s in Business Administration – MBA/PGDM from reputed institutions like IIM with two years working experience in a reputed organization; NET and API/PBAS score as above.
4. Agril. Statistics: Bachelor’s in Science with Statistics as major subject, OR Bachelor’s in Agriculture/Veterinary/Community Science/Fisheries/Forestry; Master’s in Statistics/Agricultural Statistics with 55%/MCGPA criteria, NET and API/PBAS score as above.
5. Computer Science: Bachelor’s in Computer Application/Information Technology/Engineering/Science with Computer Science as major subject; Master’s in Computer Application/IT/ICT/Computer Engineering/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Computer Science; NET and API/PBAS score as above.
6. Food Science & Technology: Bachelor’s in Science or equivalent relevant degree; Master’s in Food Science & Technology/Food Technology/Food Engineering/Dairy Technology/Post Harvest Technology/Agricultural Process Engineering or equivalent disciplines; NET and API/PBAS score as above.
