Punjab National Bank (PNB) invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for recruitment of 545 Local Bank Officer (LBO) posts. The last date for online registration has been extended up to 16.08.2026 (23:59 hours).

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a University/Institution recognized/approved by Government of India or its regulatory bodies.
• Work Experience: Minimum one year post-qualification work experience in Clerical/Officer Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934.
• Age Limit: Minimum 20 years (JMGS-I scale).
• Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing & speaking) in the specified local language of the state applied for. Candidates who have not studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard must appear in the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT).

Pay Scale

JMGS-I: Rs. 48,480 - 2,000/7 - 62,480 - 2,340/2 - 67,160 - 2,680/7 - 85,920 (plus DA, CCA, HRA/Leased Accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, Retirement Benefits and other perquisites as per Bank rules).

Selection Procedure

1. Online Written Test:
   • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude – 25 Q, 25 Marks, 35 min
   • Data Analysis & Interpretation – 25 Q, 25 Marks, 35 min
   • English Language – 25 Q, 25 Marks, 25 min
   • Quantitative Aptitude – 25 Q, 25 Marks, 35 min
   • General/Economy/Banking Awareness – 50 Q, 50 Marks, 50 min
   Negative marking: 1/4th mark for each wrong answer. Minimum qualifying: 40% (Gen/EWS), 35% (Reserved) in each section.
2. Screening: Verification of eligibility of written-test qualified candidates.
3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Qualifying nature (reading, writing, speaking) for those who did not study the local language in 10th/12th.
4. Personal Interview: 50 marks; minimum qualifying 45% (SC/ST), 50% (others).
5. Final Selection: Combined performance in Online Written Test + Interview, subject to qualifying in LLPT (where applicable); merit list state-wise and category-wise.

Terms & Conditions

• Posting: Within the selected State until completion of 9 years of service or promotion to SMG Scale IV, whichever is earlier.
• Probation: 2 years from date of joining.
• Indemnity Bond: Must serve at least 3 years or pay Rs. 2,00,000/- if leaving earlier.
• CIBIL Score: Minimum 680 or above at the time of joining.
• Advance Increment: One per prior completed year of service (max 2) for Officer-cadre candidates from Scheduled Commercial Banks.
• No TA for Online Test & LLPT; unemployed SC/ST candidates called for Interview get actual 2nd Class Rail/Bus fare.
• Candidates previously discharged from PNB or its merged entities for reasons other than VRS/Resignation are not eligible.

3. Fill the online application form with all required details.
4. Upload photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression, handwritten declaration, proof of age, caste/disability certificate, educational qualification and work experience documents.
5. Pay the application fee online (Debit/Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets, UPI).
6. Submit and take a printout of the e-receipt and application form.
