Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025 for selection to Junior Secretariat Assistant / Lower Division Clerk Grade (Pay Level-2, Group 'C' Non-Gazetted, Rs. 19,900 - Rs. 63,200) of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) Cadre of Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

Important Dates

Eligibility

• Educational: Must have passed 12th standard examination from a recognized Board or equivalent.
• Service: Regularly appointed MTS/Group 'C' staff of the participating Ministries/Departments/Organizations under CSCS Cadre.
• Service Period: Must have completed at least 5 years of regular service (including period of probation) from the crucial date of the Notice.
• Age: Upper age limit is as per the cadre rules (details in the official notice).

Scheme of Examination (CBE — 180 Marks)

Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Duration: 3 hours (4 hours for candidates eligible for scribe).

Type-writing Test

Candidates must pass a type-writing test in English (30 w.p.m.) or Hindi (25 w.p.m.) on manual typewriter, or 35 w.p.m. (English) / 30 w.p.m. (Hindi) on computer, within one year of appointment.

How to Apply

1. Generate One Time Registration (OTR) on ssc.gov.in if not already done.
2. Fill online application for the examination.
3. Upload scanned photograph, signature (JPEG, 10-20 KB), and required documents.
4. Submit the application online through the SSC website.

• Exam will be conducted in Delhi-NCR only.
• Applications must be countersigned by the Head of Department.
• Candidates must upload a certified true copy of the first page of their Service Book.
• Final selection based on CBE merit only.
