DSSSB 2026: The Complete Guide to Delhi’s Teaching and Non-Teaching Jobs

Last Updated: July 19, 2026

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) is the gateway to government jobs in Delhi’s schools, hospitals, and administrative offices. For Delhi residents, it’s one of the most accessible routes to government employment.

What is DSSSB?

DSSSB conducts recruitment for Teaching (PGT, TGT, PRT, Nursery Teacher), Non-Teaching (Junior Engineer, Stenographer, Clerk, Patwari), Medical (Staff Nurse, Pharmacist), and Technical posts across Delhi government departments.

Subject-Wise Strategy

General Sections (100 marks): General Awareness with Delhi-specific focus (Delhi government schemes, administrative structure, history, education policies), basic reasoning, 10th level math, school-level English and Hindi.

Subject Concerned (100 marks – the decider): Content knowledge at Master’s (PGT), Bachelor’s (TGT), or Sr. Secondary (PRT) level. Pedagogy weight: 30-40% depending on post.

3-Month Preparation Plan

Month 1: Subject content + general sections + Delhi-specific current affairs Month 2: Intensive practice + previous year papers + weekly mocks Month 3: Revision + exam temperament + document verification readiness

The DSSSB Advantage

Unlike central government jobs with all-India transfers, DSSSB keeps you in Delhi. Salary: ₹35,000-65,000. High job security. Minimal transfers. DDA housing sometimes available.

Final Words

DSSSB is not as glamorous as UPSC, but for Delhi residents seeking stable government employment – especially in teaching – it’s one of the most accessible paths.
