NDA & NA 2025 – Result Timeline
UPSC conducts the NDA & NA Examination twice a year, and each cycle has its own written result, SSB schedule and final merit list. How to Check UPSC NDA Result on upsc.gov.in
Like all UPSC written results, NDA results are announced as roll-number PDF notifications. The written result lists candidates who have crossed the cut-off and are eligible for the SSB interview, but appearing in the written result does not guarantee selection. Use the steps below to check every stage.
- Visit the official UPSC website www.upsc.gov.in.
- Open the "Written Results" section under "What's New" and locate the entry "Written Results of NDA/NA (I) 2025" or "NDA/NA (II) 2025" as applicable.
- Open the PDF notification and search for your roll number (Ctrl+F). The notice lists the roll numbers of candidates invited to the SSB interview.
- The written-result notice also states the SSB details. Qualified candidates must register on the official SSB joining intimation portal (links are provided in the UPSC notice) and select their interview date and centre.
- For the final result, check the "Results" notifications on the UPSC homepage. The final merit list is published with roll numbers of recommended candidates, followed by name-wise updates and the reserve list.

NDA 2025 Cut-off Marks – Written Stage Details
The NDA written cut-off is fixed by UPSC on the marks obtained in the written Examination. The paper consists of Mathematics (300 marks) and General Ability Test (GAT, 600 marks), totalling 900 marks for the written stage. In the GAT, English carries 200 marks and the remaining sections (General Knowledge, Arithmetic, and basic Sciences) carry 400 marks, with sectional qualifying marks prescribed in the notification. Candidates must secure the minimum section-wise marks in English, General Knowledge, Mathematics (NDA papers) and the combined paper aggregate to be considered for SSB.
SSB carries an additional 900 marks. The final merit list is prepared on the aggregate of the written marks and SSB marks, and the overall qualifying cut-off varies from course to course depending on the number of vacancies and vacancies reported by the three services. Selection Process and Next Stages After the Written Result
After clearing the written result, candidates attend a five-day SSB interview. Day 1 is the Screening Test, consisting of the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test and the Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT), after which shortlisted candidates move ahead. Days 2 to 4 comprise Psychological Tests (Thematic Apperception Test, Word Association Test, Situation Reaction Test, Self-Description), Group Testing Officer's Tasks (Group Discussion, Group Planning Exercise, Progressive Group Task, Group Obstacle Race, Command Task, Final Group Task, and Lecturette), and the Personal Interview with the Interviewing Officer. Day 5 is the Conference Board day, where the board decides whether to recommend the candidate.
Recommended candidates undergo a thorough Medical Examination at designated military hospitals, after which a final all-India merit list is prepared combining written and SSB marks. Candidates must meet the medical standards of the entry concerned (including a recent policy revision permitting female cadets to participate on merit as per government instructions). The final result includes the recommended candidates' roll numbers and names; those who do not make the main merit list may await the reserve list for unallocated vacancies. Selected cadets join the National Defence Academy / Naval Academy at the commencement of the course.
