How to Check the RRB NTPC Result & Download Scorecard
RRB results and scorecards are hosted on the official website of the specific RRB where you submitted your application (for example, RRB Mumbai for candidates who applied to the Mumbai board). The central portal also provides login-based status facilities. Follow these steps:
- Open the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board where you applied (every RRB has its own official portal, for instance RRB Mumbai at rrbmumbai.gov.in). If you are unsure which RRB handled your form, check your e-admit card or registration email.
- On the RRB homepage, locate the Results / Scorecard section and click the link titled along the lines of “CEN 06/2025 – NTPC Graduate – CBT-1 Result” or “CBT-1 Scorecard”.
- You will be redirected to the candidate login page. Enter your registration number (or roll number) and date of birth / password exactly as used during the application.

RRB NTPC Cut Off & Score Normalisation Explained
Because NTPC CBT-1 is conducted in multiple shifts over several days, the RRBs apply a transparent normalisation process before preparing results. Raw marks from different shifts are not directly comparable because question paper difficulty can vary from shift to shift. The boards therefore use a percentile-based equalisation methodology: the performance distribution of candidates in each shift is studied, and scores are adjusted so that equally meritorious candidates receive comparable normalised marks irrespective of the shift they attended. A candidate's final displayed score is the normalised score, not the raw score.
The cut-off for CBT-1 is prepared category-wise (UR, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and relaxation categories) after normalisation, taking into account total vacancies, the number of candidates examined and the difficulty level of each shift. Only candidates scoring equal to or above the category cut-off qualify for CBT-2. RRBs typically shortlist around 15 times the number of vacancies (the exact multiple is stated in the notification). The minimum qualifying percentage prescribed by the RRBs is printed in the exam notification, and category-based relaxation applies. Candidates should remember that clearing the minimum qualifying marks does not by itself guarantee qualification; the effective cut-off depends on merit.
Selection Process & Next Stage After CBT-1
The RRB NTPC selection ladder is as follows:
- CBT-1: qualifying screening stage of 100 questions (General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning); result already declared.
- CBT-2: shortlisted candidates (approximately 15 times the vacancies) sit for a 120-question second-stage CBT. CBT-2 is scheduled during 2026; exam city intimation and e-admit cards are issued on RRB websites roughly two weeks before the exam.
- CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test): applicable to safety-category posts such as Station Master, Goods Train Manager and Traffic Assistant; candidates must secure the prescribed minimum percentile in each aptitude battery.

DV happens only after CBT-2, CBAT and the typing skill test (where applicable) for your post category. 5. When can we expect the RRB NTPC final merit list?
The final merit list is prepared only after completion of all stages — CBT-2, CBAT/skill tests, DV and medical examination.
