How to Check the RRB JE Result & Download Scorecard
JE results, merit lists and scorecards are published on the official website of the specific RRB under which you applied. Follow these steps:
- Visit the official website of your RRB (for example, RRB Mumbai at rrbmumbai.gov.in). The board that processed your application is mentioned on your e-admit card and registration email.
- Click the Results tab and open the link such as “CEN 05/2024 – JE – CBT-1 Result” or “CBT-2 Result/Scorecard”, whichever stage you are tracking.
- You will reach the candidate login page. Enter your registration number / roll number and date of birth / password, then submit.
- View your qualifying status and normalised marks. Once the scorecard window is live, download the PDF; take multiple printouts because they are required at DV.
- If your RRB publishes a qualified-roll-number list in PDF form, open it and search for your roll number; merit lists may also appear as separate zone/post PDFs.
- For DV information, open the Notices / DV section of your RRB website; shortlisted candidates receive individual intimation with the DV date, venue and the document checklist.
- Since each RRB declares on its own timetable, candidates under other boards may see results a few days earlier or later; this is normal in RRB-wise declarations.

RRB JE Cut Off & Score Normalisation Explained
Both JE CBT-1 and CBT-2 are multi-shift examinations, so the RRBs apply the established normalisation methodology before publishing results. Shift-wise difficulty differences are corrected by analysing the score distribution of every shift and adjusting raw marks using a percentile-based equalisation formula. The normalised score — printed on your scorecard — is used for merit preparation, ensuring no candidate is advantaged or disadvantaged merely by the shift allotment.
Category-wise cut-offs (UR, OBC, EWS, SC, ST) are fixed after normalisation, guided by the vacancies in each engineering branch, the number of candidates examined and the shift-wise difficulty. The notification states minimum qualifying percentages category-wise. CBT-1 is purely screening: its marks are not added to final merit. CBT-2 marks (with branch-wise technical questions carrying significant weight) form the basis of merit for Document Verification. Only candidates above the cut-off in CBT-2 receive DV call letters. Final selection also depends on document authenticity and medical fitness.
Selection Process & Next Stage After CBT-2
- CBT-1: screening CBT of 100 questions (Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness & Current Affairs) — already declared during 2025.
- CBT-2: 150-question technical mains covering the engineering branch/discipline, Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control; marks form the merit basis.
- Result & Shortlisting: CBT-2 normalised results declared RRB-wise; candidates above the category cut-off are shortlisted for DV in the ratio prescribed for the cycle.
- Document Verification: originals of the engineering diploma/degree (or ITI for certain posts), 10th/12th mark sheets, category/EWS certificates and other credentials verified; discrepancies at this stage invite rejection, so ensure documents match the application exactly.
- Medical Examination: candidates clearing DV are medically examined as per railway standards applicable to JE posts, including prescribed vision standards.
- Final Merit & Appointment: final merit list prepared branch-wise and community-wise from CBT-2 marks of medically fit candidates; empanelment and induction to zones follow.
RRB JE Result – Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where can I download my RRB JE CBT scorecard?
The scorecard is published on the official website of the RRB where you applied. Use the CBT-1/CBT-2 scorecard link under CEN 05/2024 and log in with your registration number and date of birth/password. Save the PDF and keep soft/hard copies for DV and references.
2. My roll number is not in the JE qualified list. What now?
Verify that you are checking the list of your own RRB; boards publish separately. Wait for any revised/supplementary lists over the following days. If you believe the omission is erroneous, raise a representation through your RRB’s official grievance/helpdesk channel within the stipulated period, attaching your admit card and roll number details.
3. Which website should I log into for the JE scorecard — rrbapply.gov.in or the RRB site?
rrbapply.gov.in is the central application/status portal and may provide application-level facilities. JE result PDFs and individual scorecards are hosted on the specific RRB’s official website (e.g. rrbmumbai.gov.in). Use your RRB’s portal for the scorecard.
4. When will the Document Verification schedule be announced?
DV for JE is announced after CBT-2 results, RRB-wise, during 2026. Shortlisted candidates receive individual intimation (SMS/email) and the schedule is posted in the Notices/DV section of the RRB website. Carry all original certificates, self-attested copies, photographs and the CBT-2 scorecard.
5. When is the RRB JE final merit list expected?
Final merit for CEN 05/2024 is expected during 2026 after DV and medical examination are completed zone-wise. Panel lists will be published on individual RRB websites, and candidates selected for appointment will receive joining instructions from the concerned railway zones.
