Candidates should specialise in one of the following fields, with the Asia-Pacific region as their primary geographical focus:
Area Studies
International Relations
International Development and Policy Studies
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to:
Submit an annual research activity report
Present ongoing research at the WIAPS seminar each academic year
Apply for JSPS Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, where applicable
Attend WIAPS faculty meetings
Plan and organise GSAPS and WIAPS events
Support the management of academic journals in English and Japanese
Collaborate with overseas partner universities and strengthen academic networks across Asia
Teach courses such as Common Basic Subjects, Qualitative Research Methods, Quantitative Research Methods and Writing and Research Skills
Teaching responsibilities will normally be limited to a maximum of two class periods per week.
