This section explains what the city intimation slip is and why UPESSC releases it before the admit card.

The city intimation slip is a preliminary notice issued by UPESSC that informs candidates only of their allotted exam city, district, and shift not the exact exam centre. It is released a few days before the official admit card so that candidates appearing from outside the allotted city have enough time to arrange travel and accommodation. The slip is not valid as an entry pass; only the final admit card, carrying the full centre address, will be accepted at the exam hall.
