UPSSSC PET 2026 (Preliminary Eligibility Test)

Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has invited online applications for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2026. Advt. No. 16-E-2/28/11/2026 dated 01.08.2026.

PET is a qualifying eligibility test. Candidates who qualify PET-2026 become eligible to apply for subsequent UPSSSC recruitments within its validity period. Those who already have a valid OTR (One Time Registration) and appear for PET need not appear again; their score from previous attempts is considered.

Eligibility

• Candidates must have valid OTR (One Time Registration) registered on the UPSSSC website. OTR registration opened on 14.07.2026.
• Educational qualification as prescribed under UPSSSC GSAT-3 / selection rules for the post for which PET is required.
• Age: 18 to 40 years as on 01.07.2026 (relaxation as per UP Govt. rules for reserved categories).
• PET score is valid for 03 years from the result date.

Application Fee

Fee payable online via SBI (Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking / UPI).

Exam Pattern (PET)

• Objective Type (MCQ): 100 questions, 100 marks, 02 hours.
• Sectional weightage (approx.): Indian History 05 Q, Indian National Movement, Geography, Indian Economy, Indian Constitution & Public Administration, General Science, Elementary Arithmetic, General Hindi, General English, Logic & Reasoning, Current Affairs / General Awareness.
• Question difficulty based on NCERT level (Class 05th to 12th).
• Negative marking may apply as per rules.

How to Apply

• Apply online only through upsssc.gov.in using the Online Application System.
• Steps: OTR login → Apply for PET-2026 → Fill educational/personal details → Upload photo & signature → Pay fee → Submit.
• After fee payment, verify Transaction ID via "Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification Mode" in Applicant Segment.
• Print the Detailed Application Form / Registration Slip after submission.

Important Points

• PET-2026 eligibility is based on OTR data; update OTR before applying.
• Modify submitted application facility available up to the correction window.
• Candidates who qualified PET earlier / were shortlisted need not appear again (per norms).
