UPSC EPFO APFC Syllabus 2026 – Section-wise Topics & Exam Pattern
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the syllabus for the Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner (APFC) examination for EPFO, Ministry of Labour & Employment (Special Advertisement No. 52/2026, Group A, Level-10 Pay Matrix, 80 vacancies).
Exam Pattern

- RT: 120 minutes, objective MCQs, OMR pen-and-paper, bilingual (English/Hindi), negative marking of 1/3rd per wrong answer (multiple options marked also counts as wrong).
- RT date: 20 December 2026.
- Interview minimum marks: General/EWS 50, OBC (NCL) 45, SC/ST/PwBD 40.

3. Governance and Constitution of India: Indian polity, constitutional provisions, rights, executive framework, governance machinery, public policies, administrative structures.
4. Developmental Issues & Present Trends in Indian Economy: Macroeconomic concepts, fiscal policy, inflation, monetary policy, sustainable development, social infrastructure, demographic trends.
5. Industrial Relations, Labour Codes & Social Security: Principles of IR, trade union acts, new Labour Codes, social security schemes, PF legislation, gratuity, maternity benefits, statutory welfare.
6. Principles of Accountancy, Auditing & Insurance: Financial accounting, trial balance, ledger posting, P&L statements, auditing fundamentals & standards, risk management, types of insurance.
7. General Science & Computer Applications: Everyday physics/chemistry/biology, computer hardware, operating systems, networking, cybersecurity, software applications.
8. Elementary Mathematics, Statistics & Mental Ability: Arithmetic, percentages, ratio & proportion, time & work, algebra, geometry; data representation, central tendency, variance, probability; logical reasoning, analytical ability, pattern recognition.
