- Nationality: Indian citizen.
- Age: minimum 50 years and maximum 62 years as on 31 October 2026.
- Technical posts: full-time B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc. Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Telecom, Instrumentation, Electronics, Computer Science or Industrial & Production Engineering, as applicable.
- Finance posts: CA / ICWA / MBA (Finance).
- Personnel & Administration: graduation; external candidates should also hold an MBA (HR preferred).
- Experience: internal candidates must be regular Chief Engineer/General Manager or in the promotion select list; external candidates need at least 15 years at senior management level in the last 20 years, with power-sector experience preferred.
