PhD in Art History or a related discipline
Recognised teaching experience
Strong postgraduate supervision experience
Established academic and/or creative research profile
Experience Required
Candidates should demonstrate experience in:
Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
Curriculum development
Art historical, curatorial and/or heritage studies
Supervision of successful Honours and Master’s students
PhD-level supervision
Conventional and/or creative research outputs in art histories or related humanities disciplines
Relevant academic interests may include:
Historical and contemporary art
Colonial, decolonial and post-colonial studies
South African and African contexts
Interdisciplinary research methodologies
Multidisciplinary and multimodal approaches
Desirable Skills
Preference may be given to candidates with:
Project management experience
Interest in transformative pedagogies
Experience in decolonial curriculum development
Interest in transformation within the humanities
