Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Develop and maintain an active research programme in Finance.
Teach assigned Finance courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Supervise students enrolled in graduate programmes.
Contribute to the Accounting and Finance section.
Participate in curriculum development, committee work, student-centred initiatives and other academic service activities. (telfer.uottawa.ca)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess:
A PhD in Finance or a closely related discipline.
Candidates nearing completion of their PhD may also be considered.
A strong record of, or clear potential for, high-quality scholarly research.
Evidence of research publications, competitive funding or a well-defined research programme.
Demonstrated excellence or strong potential in university-level teaching.

Teaching and Language Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach Finance courses in French at undergraduate and graduate levels. Relevant subjects may include:

Portfolio Management
Advanced Corporate Finance
Related Finance courses
Excellent communication skills in French are required. Passive knowledge of English is required for tenure, while proficiency in both French and English will be considered an advantage. (telfer.uottawa.ca)
Preferred Expertise
Preference may be given to candidates who:
Can teach effectively in both French and English.

Salary and Benefits
The salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience. The Assistant Professor salary scale starts at CAD 99,377, based on the scale effective from 1 May 2025.
