Essential Qualifications
Research Assistant
- Postgraduate in any Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks, with NET / M.Phil / Ph.D.
Field Investigator
- PG in any Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (preferably female).
Desirable Qualifications
- Research Assistant: Experience in research coordination and field supervision; experience in handling survey data; specialization in Econometrics; knowledge of software (STATA/R/Python); analytical and academic writing skills in English.
- Field Investigator: Fieldwork aptitude and experience of primary data collection in rural areas; good communication skills in Bengali; knowledge of MS Word, Excel and DOCS files; experience of prior data entry.
Job Responsibilities
Research Assistant
- To assist the Project Directors in coordinating the research activities;
- To carry out and manage the fieldwork in the rural areas of South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal;
- To be engaged in compilation, cleaning and analysis of primary and secondary data;
- To maintain all project records including financial records and documentation;
- To prepare the draft reports and research notes under the guidance of the Project Directors.
Field Investigator
- Primary data collection based almost entirely in rural areas of West Bengal;
- Administration of structured schedules;
- Data entry, transcription and preliminary cleaning of field data;
- Other research-related tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator and Project Directors.
