The school seeks to build a faculty cohort that combines rigorous quantitative training with a strong commitment to field-based, action-oriented research and teaching.

Position Details and Specialisations Sought

Two Assistant Professor positions are being filled under this advertisement:

• Position 1: One Assistant Professor with specialisation in Business Administration and allied subjects.

Both posts are on a contract basis, with the initial engagement for one year. Remuneration

The selected candidates will be placed at the entry pay of Rs. 57,700 per month in the Academic Pay Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission. The remuneration is fixed for the contract period and is paid in accordance with the institute's pay rules applicable to contract faculty.

Essential Educational Qualifications

Candidates must satisfy one of the two eligibility pathways (A or B) outlined below for the relevant position.

Eligibility A:

• For Position 1 (Business Administration): A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Business Administration and allied subjects from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• For Position 2 (Mathematics/Statistics): A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Mathematics, Statistics, or allied disciplines from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

In addition to the Master's degree, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission, or a similar test accredited by the UGC such as SLET or SET. Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016 and their subsequent amendments are exempted from the requirement of NET, SLET, or SET.

Ph.D. candidates who were registered for their doctoral programme prior to 11 July 2009 are governed by the provisions of the then existing ordinances, bye-laws, or regulations of the institution awarding the degree, and may be exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement subject to fulfilment of all of the following conditions:

1. The Ph.D. degree has been awarded in regular mode.
2. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
3. An open Ph.D. viva voce has been conducted.
4. The candidate has published at least two research papers from the Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.
5. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on the Ph.D. work in conferences or seminars sponsored, funded, or supported by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, or any similar agency.

Compliance with these conditions must be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned university.

NET, SLET, or SET is also not required for Master's programmes in disciplines for which these tests are not conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC.

Eligibility B: The candidate holds a Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university or institution that is ranked among the top 500 in any of the following World University Rankings (at any time):

• Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
• Times Higher Education (THE)
• Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai)

Desirable Qualifications

For both positions, demonstrated publication and research output in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals is desirable. Other desirable attributes, position-wise, are summarised below.

Position 1 - Business Administration:

• Ph.D. in Management or related fields is preferred.
• Working expertise in data visualisation tools such as Tableau, BI tools, and similar platforms.
• Demonstrated ability in analytics, visualisation, machine learning, data curation, and social network analysis, including the handling of micro-data.
• Ability to teach across programmes including the Executive PG Diploma in Analytics and the BS in Analytics and Sustainability Studies.
• Willingness to engage in field-based empirical research and teaching pedagogy.

Position 2 - Mathematics/Statistics:

• Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Expertise in computation and programming languages such as R, Python, MATLAB, and other open-source languages.
• Demonstrated competence in using machine learning models and handling large-scale data sets.
• Expertise in teaching courses on modelling, advanced analytics, and the fundamentals of machine learning.
• Ability to teach across programmes including the Post Graduate programmes in Analytics and the Undergraduate programme in Analytics and Sustainability Studies.
• Affinity for field-based research, fieldwork, and the sustainability agenda.

Age Limit and Citizenship

No upper age limit has been prescribed for either position under this advertisement. Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
