Tezpur University Assistant Professor (Contractual) Recruitment 2026 - Social Work
Tezpur University (A Central University), Tezpur - 784 028, Assam is looking for One (01) Assistant Professor (on Contractual basis) for the Department of Social Work (Advertisement No. 23/2026, dated 21.08.2026) for a period of Eleven (11) months or till filling up of the regular vacancies whichever is earlier, with provision for further extension based on requirement and satisfactory performance.

Essential Qualification (A or B)
A. Ph.D. degree in the advertised area of subject/specialization with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the preceding Master’s degree in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. Ph.D. must be in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 and amendments.
OR B. Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution ranked among top 500 in World University Ranking (any time) by QS, THE or ARWU (Shanghai).
Emoluments
Fixed emolument of Rs. 80,000/- per month. No other allowances admissible.
Selection
Academic score as per UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II (Table 3A) considered for short-listing for interview only; selection based on interview performance.
