Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, an Institute of National Importance established under the NITSER Act by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, invites applications from Indian nationals for 20 posts of Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A2).

Pay

Pay Level 13A2 of the Pay Matrix: Rs 1,39,600 to Rs 2,11,300 per month plus admissible allowances.

Eligibility

All new entrants must have a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline and first class in the preceding degrees (Bachelor's degree onwards). Essential qualifications, experience and credit points are as per Schedule 'E' of the NIT Statute published in the Gazette of India on 24.07.2017 (Annexure-I); the minimum qualifications and desirable specialisations for the departments with vacancies are given in Annexure-II of the advertisement.

• Degrees must be from institutions recognised by UGC/AICTE/AIU/Government of India. Degrees from abroad are considered if awarded by the national university/institution of that country or by an institution ranked up to 500 in the QS/THE world rankings.
• Where "first class" is not mentioned, at least 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate is required. No CGPA-to-percentage conversion is allowed.
• For the post of Associate Professor, the requirement of experience at the level of Assistant Professor with AGP Rs 8,000 means experience at Assistant Professor in Pay Level 12 (pay Rs 1,01,500 to Rs 1,67,400), as per MHRD letter F.No.15-4/2017-TC dated 27.10.2017.
• Part-time, teaching-assistant and visiting/guest faculty experience is not counted. Experience in CFTIs, institutes of national importance, centrally funded laboratories, NIRF top-100 institutions and QS/THE top-500 foreign universities is considered, as is industrial experience in a PSU, autonomous organisation or private industry with turnover above Rs 500 crore.
• Candidates who obtained their Ph.D. from SVNIT Surat must have a three-year gap between the Ph.D. notification and the last date of the online application (not applicable to serving SVNIT faculty).
• Fresh appointment beyond the age of 60 years is discouraged, except for candidates with exceptional research and ongoing or approved externally funded projects.

Application Fee

Rs 1,000 per application, non-refundable, through the online portal only. SC, ST, PwD, female candidates and SVNIT faculty are exempted.

2. Candidates applying for more than one department must apply separately with all enclosures and the applicable fee.
3. Download the submitted application and the credit point summary sheet, and send the signed printout with self-attested documents (age proof, 10th/12th, graduation, post-graduation, Ph.D., caste/EWS/disability certificate, experience certificates, credit point documents) to the Deputy Registrar (Establishment), SVNIT, Ichchhanath, Dumas Road, Surat 395007, Gujarat, so as to reach by 08.12.2026, 17:00 hrs.
4. Superscribe the envelope with the advertisement number, department and application ID. Applications without the hard copy or without the fee will be rejected.
