Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Matriculation (10th Standard) or equivalent from a recognized board/institute.
• All educational certificates must be obtained by the closing date of application.

Sports Qualification (Order of Preference)

1. First Preference: Sportsmen who have represented India in International Competition as member of Indian Squad with clearance of Department of Youth Affairs & Sports.
2. Next Preference: Medal winners in Senior/Junior National Championships organized by National Sports Federations recognized by Department of Youth Affairs & Sports or National Games organized by Indian Olympic Association.
3. Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games.
4. Medal winners in Khelo India University Games.
5. Medal winners in School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
6. Sportsmen who have represented their University in Inter-University Tournaments conducted by Inter-University Sports Boards.
7. Sportsmen who have represented State School Teams in National Sports/Games for School conducted by All India School Games Federations.

Note: Sports achievements must be from the past 02 years (cut-off: 30 days from date of publication in Employment News). Events recognized by Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Indian Olympic Association, or School Games Federation of India only.

Age Relaxation Details

Marital Status

No person who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living, or who having a spouse living has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible. Central Government may grant exemption in certain cases.

Weight / BMI

Normal BMI range: 18-25. Candidates with BMI below 18 (underweight) or above 25 (overweight) will be rejected.

Formula: BMI = Weight (kg) / (Height in meters)²

Salary & Benefits

• Pay Level: Level-3 (Rs.21,700-69,100) as per 7th Central Pay Commission
• Pension: Contribution Pension Scheme (New Pension Scheme / NPS)
• Allowances: DA, HRA, Medical, Uniform allowance, and other allowances as admissible in the Force from time to time

Selection Process

The recruitment is conducted in TWO stages:

STAGE I (For International participants/medal winners & National medal winners up to 3rd place)

1. Documentation: Verification of all original documents/certificates (age, education, caste, sports achievements, age relaxation proof).
2. Checking of Sports Achievements: Marks awarded based on achievement level:
   • Gold Medal (International): 30 marks
   • Silver Medal (International): 29 marks
   • Bronze Medal (International): 28 marks
   • Participation (International): 26 marks
   Field trial/skill test exempted for International participants and National medal winners (up to 3rd place). Order of preference: Gold > Silver > Bronze > Participation.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, Chest, BMI measurement.
4. Detailed Medical Examination (DME): As per CAPF Revised Medical Guidelines dated 20.05.2015 and MHA amendments dated 31.05.2021.
5. Review Medical Examination (RME): Appeal option within 24 hours of DME unfitness declaration.
6. Final Selection: Based on merit after RME completion.

STAGE II (If vacancies remain unfilled after Stage I)

1. Documentation – verification of original documents.
2. Field Trial/Skill Test (50 marks): Conducted as per SSB guidelines. Minimum qualifying: 60% for all categories.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, Chest, BMI measurement.
4. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME) as per Stage I.

• PwD (Persons with Disabilities) are NOT eligible for this recruitment.
• Candidates must bring Admit Card to all stages of recruitment.
• Application incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected.
• Change in category will not be entertained after application submission.
• Candidates involved/convicted/arrested in criminal cases are not eligible.
• Selected candidates must qualify prescribed training during probation period.
• Sportspersons using banned drugs are liable for disciplinary action as per NADA rules.
• Relaxation in height/chest/weight subject to MHA approval.
• Candidates declared FIT in medical examination have no legal claim to final appointment.
• Any amendment in schedule/condition/process will be available on SSB recruitment website only.
