Advertisement: No. 03/2026, Dated 29.06.2026 - State Selection Board (SSB), Odisha invites online applications for recruitment to the post of Junior Assistant (Group-C, Level-4 Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017) in the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha under School & Mass Education Department. These are backlog vacancies arising from appointments made in pursuance to Advertisement No. 02/2024 for CHSE, Odisha.
Note (W): In the table below (W) indicates women vacancies. In case of non-availability of eligible/suitable women candidates of a category, the unfilled vacancies of that category shall be filled up by eligible/suitable male candidate(s) of the same category. Exchange of reservation between Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will not be considered. The number of vacancies is subject to change by the State Selection Board without notice, at its discretion.

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 42 years as on 01.01.2026, i.e., must have been born not earlier than 01.01.1984 and not later than 01.01.2005. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 (five) years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC), Women and Ex-Servicemen.
Educational Qualification: (i) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution/Board; (ii) Adequate knowledge of basic Computer skill with certification.
Other Eligibility Conditions: Must be a citizen of India and a domicile of the State of Odisha; able to speak, read and write Odia with Odia as a language subject in the H.S.C. Examination or equivalent (or passed a test in Odia language equivalent to Middle School Standard); must not have more than one spouse living; candidates with academic qualifications from outside Odisha must produce equivalence and affiliation proof; Govt. servants must obtain "No Objection Certificate" before the date of document verification.
Selection Process: Written Test (200 marks) + Computer Skill Test (50 marks) = 250 marks. Written Test (100 MCQs, 2 marks each, 0.50 negative marking for each wrong answer, 2 hours duration, OMR or CBT): General English up to Graduation Level 60, General Knowledge & Current Affairs 40, General Mathematics up to HSC standard 40, Reasoning & Mental Ability 60. Qualifying marks in Written Test: 40% for Unreserved, 30% for SC/ST. Candidates shortlisted two times the vacancy (category-wise) will be called for Computer Skill Test. Computer Skill Test (50 marks, 1 hour, minimum qualifying 20 marks for all categories): Windows operating system, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Access. Final merit list on Written Test + Computer Skill Test marks; in case of tie, marks of Written Test shall be considered, then earlier date of birth.
Exam Centres: Written examination at five (05) zones - Baleshwar, Brahmapur, Bhubaneswar, Jeypore and Sambalpur (in CBT mode, conducted in different shifts at centres in different districts). Computer Skill Test and verification of certificates of shortlisted candidates will be conducted at Bhubaneswar.
Application Fee: Rs.200 for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes; Rs.500 for all other categories (non-refundable, non-adjustable, payable online through the designated payment gateway only).

Upload a recent passport size photograph (taken within fifteen days before submission), scanned image of full signature and left-hand thumb impression.
