Established in 1981 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM), Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) was declared a Deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 in 2003. The Hyderabad campus delivers the AICTE-approved, two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program alongside foundational undergraduate programs like the BBA, focused on critical analytical thinking, personal leadership, and experiential learning.
Job Description & Responsibilities
The incumbent shall be responsible for teaching at the graduate level in Commerce & Management, along with the co-ordination and development of the respective programmes of the university.
Academic Delivery: Deliver high-quality teaching across full-time postgraduate and undergraduate management programs.
Programme Development: Coordinate, update, and structurally develop departmental course curriculum.
Research & Thought Leadership: Engage actively in research initiatives leading to peer-reviewed publications, books, or patents.
Institutional Service: Mentor students, supervise industry research projects/dissertations, and plan academic or professional activities.
SKVM'S NMIMS School of Management Eligibility Criteria 2026
1. Assistant Professor (Marketing)
Essential:
Ph.D. with a First Class Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant management-related discipline.
OR: First Class Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration / or a first class in a two-year full-time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU / accredited by the AICTE / UGC.
OR: First Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Accountant / Cost and Works Accountant / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory bodies.
Desirable:
Teaching, research, industrial, and/or professional experience in a reputed organization.
Papers presented at conferences and/or published in refereed journals.
2. Associate Professor (Marketing)
Ph.D. or Fellow of IIM or of an Institute recognized by AICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.
First Class Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration / relevant discipline OR a First Class in a two-year full-time PGDM (AIU/AICTE/UGC recognized). (Alternative: First Class graduate + qualified CA/ICWA/CS).
A minimum of 8 years of teaching / industry / research / professional experience at a managerial level (excluding the period spent obtaining the research degree).
For Industry Candidates: A minimum of 10 years of experience, out of which 5 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent, with significant national/international professional achievements recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D..
3. Professor (Marketing)
Ph.D. or Fellow of IIM or an Institute recognized by AICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.
First Class Master’s Degree or two-year full-time PGDM with at least 55% marks. (Alternative: First Class graduate + qualified CA/ICWA/CS).
A minimum of 10 years of teaching / industry / research / professional experience, out of which at least 5 years must be at the level of Reader/Associate Professor or equivalent.
For Industry Candidates: 12 years of managerial experience, with at least 8 years at a level comparable to an Assistant Professor/Reader, accompanied by a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
