Office of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Shivamogga has published a recruitment notification (Advt No. 16342/2026) for the recruitment of 56 Peon (Jawan) posts in the Courts of Shivamogga District, Karnataka.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Pass in SSLC (10th Standard) conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board or equivalent examination (CBSE/ICSE Class 10, Other State Board Class 10, NIOS Secondary Level Course, KOS).
• Kannada: Must be able to read and write Kannada.
• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years (as per Karnataka Service Rules).
• Pay Scale: Rs. 27,000-650-29,600-725-32,500-800-35,700-900-39,300-1000-43,300-1125-46,675 plus other allowances.

Selection Process

• Shortlisting: Based on percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination (SSLC or equivalent) in the ratio of 1:10 (10 candidates per vacancy).
• Interview/Oral Test: Candidates assessed on ability to read and write Kannada and General Knowledge. The interview carries 10 marks.
• Final selection: Based on marks obtained in the interview. Shortlisted candidates informed via SMS and E-mail.
• Recruitment order subject to final orders of the Karnataka High Court in W.P.No.200448/2025, 17968/2025 and 3145/2023.

2. Submit the application online from 23.07.2026 to 24.08.2026 till 11:59 PM.
3. Upload scanned colour photograph (5cm x 3.6cm, max 50kb, .jpg, white background), signature (2.5cm x 7.5cm, max 26kb, .jpg) and SSLC marksheet/equivalency in PDF format.
4. Pay the prescribed application fee online through State Bank Collect (SBI e-pay / net banking / credit card / debit card / UPI).
5. Submit only one application for all categories; mention all reservation claims in the same application.
6. Download and retain a copy of the submitted application and fee receipt until the recruitment process is complete.

Other Important Information

• Selected candidates will be on probation for two years as per Karnataka Service Rules (Probation Rules) 1977.
• Disability reservation: General Category (Roster No. 24) – Locomotor Disability incl. Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims and Muscular Dystrophy; Category-1 (Roster No. 4) – Blind/Low Vision; Category-3B (Roster No. 4) – Blind/Low Vision.
• SC Category-C: One post reserved for 59 most backward castes.
• Government employees must produce NOC from their department at the time of selection as per Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules 1977, Rule 11.
• Candidates with grades/CGPA must obtain converted marks certificate before the last date of application.
