Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow invites applications for vacant posts of Senior Resident (Hospital Services) in Psychiatry (Apex Trauma Centre) for short-term appointment for a period of 89 days, through walk-in interview. • Total vacancies: 02 — Unreserved 01, OBC 01. The number of posts may be increased or decreased as per requirement
• Date of interview: 30.10.2026 (Friday)
• Venue: School of Telemedicine, Second Floor, SGPGIMS, Lucknow
• Document verification (Office of the Department concerned): 10:30 hrs to 13:30 hrs  |  Walk-in interview: 14:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs
• Tenure: 89 days only; a candidate may get a maximum of two additional terms (a total of three terms including the first appointment), each of a maximum of 89 days, with a cooling-off period
• Age limit: maximum 45 years as reckoned on the date of interview; relaxation up to 5 years may be given to SC/ST/OBC candidates having domicile of Uttar Pradesh, and to widowed/divorced/legally separated women who have not re-married, and to disabled/handicapped persons, as per Government rules for Senior Resident posts
• Emoluments: Pay Level 11, Rs 67,700 – 2,08,700 plus other allowances as per Institute rules

Essential Qualification

• MD / DNB (Psychiatry), recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC)
• The essential qualification must be possessed on or before the date of interview
• Postgraduate degrees from departments/institutions to which NMC recognition has not been formally granted will not be considered

How to Apply

• Fill the prescribed application form (attached with the advertisement / available on the Institute website) and submit it in the concerned department at the time of document verification
• Attach: updated curriculum vitae; six recent passport-size photographs (not older than one month); certificate for proof of age (only the High School certificate is accepted); self-certified photocopies of all relevant certificates and testimonials
• Candidates of reserved categories must produce the caste certificate in the prescribed format of the State Government (OBC certificate must be less than 6 months old); reservation benefits apply only to candidates having domicile of Uttar Pradesh
• Since patient care is an essential service, interested candidates may appear in the interview against the same or other category seats for possible selection. If a suitable candidate is not available in the reserved category, the seat will be filled from the open category
• No TA/DA will be payable for attending the interview
• Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination and be declared medically fit by the Institute’s Medical Board before joining
