SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant Consultant (Sports Coach) Walk-in Interview 2026

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), Rourkela–769011 (Odisha) invites qualified Coaches fulfilling the eligibility criteria to appear in the Walk-in-Interview for engagement of 05 Consultants (Sports Coach) in different disciplines in SAIL/RSP including its Sports Academics/Centers on contractual basis. Vacancy Details

Essential Qualification & Remuneration (as on 19/08/2026)

Coaching experience should be preferably more than 15 years in the respective sports discipline as well as depending upon the specific certification/license as required in identified sports discipline. The above monthly remuneration shall be applicable for engagement for a minimum of 6 hours a day for six days in a week; if engaged for less or more than 6 hours per day, the rates may be pro-rated accordingly.

Age Limit

Upper age limit 64 years as on 19/08/2026. The upper age limit under the scheme is 65 years. The Consultants (Sports Coach) to be engaged should be medically fit.

Tenure of Engagement

The initial tenure of engagement would be a period of one (01) year, which can be further extended for a period of one (01) year each at the discretion of the Company. The maximum period for engagement under the same would not be more than three (03) years. However, there will be no bar on re-engagement. The tenure of engagement shall be subject to the upper age limit of 65 years.

Other Benefits

• Housing: Ex-employees of SAIL may retain allotted Company accommodation during engagement (rent & electricity/water charges as applicable). Other ex-employees of SAIL / non-SAIL ex-employees can be provided Company accommodation (2 BR or equivalent) on payment basis, if desired, subject to availability. No HRA will be admissible.
• Medical Benefit: For SAIL ex-employees, medical benefits applicable for ex-employees continue. For other non-SAIL ex-employees, medical benefits available for self only at Company hospitals, without referrals.
• Leave: Eligible to get 10 days leave in a year subject to prior approval.
• TA/DA: Consultants engaged shall be provided TA/DA as per entitlement to the lowest category of Executive cadre under the "SAIL Travelling Allowance (TA) Rules-2021". For SAIL ex-employees, as per entitlement of the grade in which the employee has superannuated.

Other Terms & Conditions

• Engagement is purely of temporary nature and shall not create any right for regular appointment on any ground.
• Presidential directive on reservation, as applicable in Public Enterprises, will be followed.
• No PF/Gratuity or other benefit unless and until specified shall be payable.
• During sporting events/other events, the Consultant shall be liable to give services in emergent conditions even beyond normal assigned working hours, without claim for extra remuneration.
• Consultant shall be responsible for proper usage of all assets/training equipment kits provided by the Company.
• Income Tax/GST shall be dealt with as per applicable provisions.
• Termination: Engagement can be terminated by one month''s notice by either party. Company may terminate forthwith in case of medical unfitness, poor performance, moral turpitude, conviction by court of law, insolvency, loss of license to practice, grave misconduct or financial irregularity.

General Conditions

• Candidates must be an Indian national possessing requisite qualification from a Govt. recognised University/Institute.
• Ex-employees of SAIL and other PSUs/Govt. are eligible to apply, except those separated by opting Voluntary Retirement (VRS).
• No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the walk-in interview.
• Joining is subject to Medical Fitness.
• Performance of the Sports Coach will be reviewed periodically; tenure can be curtailed or extended subject to satisfactory performance.
• Court of jurisdiction for any dispute: Rourkela.

Documents Required (Original + 1 set self-attested photocopies)

• Filled-in Application Format (Annexure-A) with one recent passport size colour photograph. No other form of application will be accepted.
• Proof of Date of Birth (SSLC / Matriculation Certificate).
• Certificates & Mark sheets of required qualification.
• Caste/Category certificate, wherever applicable.
• Experience Certificate(s), if any. In case of retired employees, Service Certificate issued by the parent organisation.
• Photo Identity Proof (Voter ID / Aadhaar Card / Passport / Driving License etc.).
• NOC from present employer, if employed under PSUs/Autonomous Bodies/Govt. Department.
• Self-Certificate that he/she has not separated due to Voluntary Retirement (for Ex-employees of SAIL and non-SAIL ex-employees of PSUs/Govt.).

Candidate who fails to produce the certificates/documents in original in support of eligibility will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
