SAIL IISCO Steel Plant Consultant (Doctors in Medical Disciplines) Walk-in Interview 2026

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) invites applications from Qualified doctors (including retired doctors) to appear in the walk-in-interview for engagement of Consultants (Doctors in Medical Disciplines) as Specialists and General Duty Medical Officers (GDMO) for its 336-bedded multi-specialty hospital at Burnpur. Remuneration (Monthly Consolidated)

Rates applicable for minimum 8 hours/day, 6 days/week (48 hrs/week). If engaged for fewer hours, rates will be pro-rated. Maximum prescribed limit of the category shall not be exceeded.

Eligibility Criteria

• Registration: Registered with Medical Council of India (MCI) / National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council (SMC) or holding a valid medical Practitioner license, enrolled in the State Register or National Register.
• Age: Upper age limit 69 years as on 02/09/2026.
• Qualification (as on 02/09/2026):
  • Specialists: MBBS with PG Diploma / PG Degree / DNB in the relevant specialty from a University/Institute.
  • GDMO: MBBS from a University/Institute.
• Preference: Consultants having relevant post-qualification work experience shall be given preference.
• Not eligible: Ex-employees of SAIL and non-SAIL ex-employees who have been separated through Voluntary Retirement (VRS) shall not be considered.

Tenure & Terms

• Initial tenure 1 year from date of joining, extendable by 1 year at the discretion of the Company; maximum period of engagement not more than 3 years. No bar on re-engagement.
• Tenure subject to upper age limit of 70 years. Performance reviewed annually.
• Working: minimum 8 hours/day, 6 days/week (48 hrs/week); liable to attend emergent conditions beyond normal hours without extra remuneration.
• 10 days leave per year subject to prior approval.
• No PF/Gratuity or other benefit unless specified; no Non-Practicing Allowance (private practice allowed without disruption of assigned working hours).
• Maternity leave as per Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.

Other Benefits

• Accommodation: Ex-employee of SAIL (up to E-7 grade) may retain allotted Company accommodation (subject to availability); non-SAIL engaged consultants can be provided Company accommodation (2BHK or equivalent) on payment basis, subject to availability. No HRA payable.
• Communication: Post-paid SIM under CUG with mobile phone expenses as per actuals within monthly ceiling – MBBS: Rs. 350/-; PG Diploma: Rs. 500/-; PG Degree/DM/Mch: Rs. 650/-.
• Medical Facility: SAIL ex-employees continue as per prevailing rules; others get medical benefits for self & spouse at SAIL-ISP Hospital, Burnpur, without referrals.

Selection Procedure

1. Selection through Walk-in Interview held at Office of CMO I/C (M&HS), Burnpur Hospital, Burnpur-713325, Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal from 10:00 AM onwards.
2. Reporting time for interview: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM (registration closes after 10:00 AM).
3. An advance copy of the application in the prescribed format may also be emailed to ispcf01@sail.in with subject line "CONSULTANTS (DOCTORS IN MEDICAL DISCIPLINES) AT SAIL-ISP, BURNPUR" latest by 01.09.2026.
4. Candidates will have to submit an undertaking (Annexure-A).
5. A discipline-wise category-wise panel will be formed in order of merit (1:1) valid for six months from the date of approval.

Documents Required (Original + 1 set self-attested photocopies)

• Filled in application format (Annexure-B) with 2 additional passport-sized recent colour photographs.
• Letter of Undertaking (Annexure-A).
• Proof of Date of Birth (Class X / Matriculation certificate).
• Class X / XII marksheet / pass certificate.
• MBBS mark sheets of all years, MBBS degree/passing certificate & MBBS registration certificate (MCI/NMC/SMC).
• Internship completion certificate (for GDMOs).
• PG Diploma/PG Degree mark sheets & passing certificates; Mch/DNB(Super Specialty)/DrNB certificate (for Super Specialists).
• Experience certificates showing relevant post-qualification experience (service certificate for retired employees).
• NOC from present employer, if employed under PSUs/Autonomous Bodies/Govt. Department.
• Photo identity proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Driving License, Passport, Voter ID) & address proof.
• Category/Caste certificate SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS and PwBD certificate (if applicable). OBC certificates to be issued in the current financial year (2026-27).
• Self-certification of not having separated through Voluntary Retirement (for ex-employees).

General Conditions

• Candidate must be an Indian national.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
• Joining is subject to medical fitness.
• Engagement is purely temporary and shall not create any right for regular appointment.
• Engagement can be terminated by one month''s notice by either party, or forthwith in case of medical unfitness, poor performance, moral turpitude, conviction, loss of license, grave misconduct or financial irregularity.
