- Retired non-gazetted Railway employees who held the same cadre or category up to three levels higher than the post applied for.
- Candidates who retired from the same Pay Level and are found suitable will be preferred over those who retired from a higher level.
- Age must not exceed 65 years.
- Employees removed, dismissed or compulsorily retired on disciplinary grounds or under age review are not eligible.
- The candidate must be medically fit in the appropriate medical category and free from DAR and vigilance cases.
- Persons covered under the LARSGESS scheme are not eligible.

About the notification
Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Ministry of Railways, invites applications for re-engagement of retired non-gazetted staff on a contractual basis against 11 vacant posts of Supervisors in the Maintenance Unit of the Mechanical Department. Notification No. RWF/RC-1/157 dated 16.10.2026.
Vacancy break-up
- Junior Engineer (JE), Level 6 - 3 posts.
- Senior Section Engineer (SSE), Level 7 - 8 posts.
Tenure
The re-engagement is valid up to 15.10.2028 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. On satisfactory performance it may be extended by one more year, or until the scheme continues, or until the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
Remuneration
A fixed monthly amount equal to the pay drawn at the time of retirement minus the basic pension. No increment, dearness allowance or HRA is payable during the contract. Transport allowance is allowed at the rate applicable at the time of retirement.

Use the prescribed application format given in the Annexure, on A4 paper; the format is also available at www.rwf.indianrailways.gov.in. Paste one passport-size photograph and attach self-attested copies of the Service Certificate, Pensioner Identity Card and Pension Payment Order (PPO).
Superscribe the envelope in block letters: “Application for Re-engagement of Retired Railway Employees”, along with the post applied for, and send it by ordinary post only or by email to [email protected] so as to reach The Senior Personnel Officer, Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Bangalore - 560 064 by 17:00 hours on 6 November 2026 (Friday).
