- Candidates working in Level-7 or one Pay Matrix below (Level-6) on a regular basis, not under MACP, in the Mechanical Department (SSE and JE).
- Minimum two years of service in that grade as on the date of notification.
- Minimum five years of service in the Mechanical Department and age not exceeding 55 years.
- Staff upgraded to Level-8 under Railway Board letter No. 2025/V-1/INSP/1/1 dated 19.06.2025 are also eligible.
- Free from DAR, SPE and vigilance cases; no penalty under D&AR in the last three years; good service record and proven integrity.
- Those repatriated from the Vigilance organisation may apply only after a cooling-off period of two years.

About the post
Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), Yelahanka, Bengaluru proposes to conduct a selection to fill one ex-cadre post of Chief Vigilance Inspector (Mechanical) in Level-7 of RS(RP) Rules 2016 in the Vigilance Department. Notification No. RWF/NG-39/891 Vol. II dated 09.10.2026.
Selection procedure
- Written examination - 50 marks.
- Vigilance Aptitude and Computer Knowledge Test - 30 marks.
- APARs of the last three years - 15 marks.
- Academic qualification - 5 marks.
Candidates securing at least 60% in the written examination will be called for the Vigilance Aptitude and Computer Knowledge Test. Answers must be written in English or Hindi only.
Tenure
The normal tenure is three years, extendable by two years based on performance and integrity. The administration may repatriate the officer at any time without assigning any reason.
