Rajasthan State Judicial Academy, Near Jhalamed Circle, Old Pali Road, Jodhpur-342 013, invites applications for contractual engagement of one (1) person as Research Scholar for a period of 2 years under the terms and conditions mentioned in the ‘Scheme for Engagement of Research Scholar’ (as amended up to November, 2024). Post particulars

• Post – Research Scholar
• Number of posts – 1 (one)
• Honorarium – A fixed honorarium of Rs.50,000/- per month without any dearness or other allowance/perquisite
• Term – Purely temporary contractual engagement, initially for two years; subject to performance to the satisfaction of the Academy, the term may be extended for a further period of one year
• Nature – Full-time job; the engagement shall not entitle the person concerned to claim any regular appointment

Qualifications

• The candidate must be a fresh Law Graduate or Post Graduate in Law from a University/College/Institution established by law in India.
• The candidate must have working knowledge of computers with typing skills.

Age and nationality

• A candidate must not have attained the age of 33 years on 1st January preceding the last date fixed for submission of the application (i.e. as on 01.01.2026).
• The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Duties of the Research Scholar

Without adversely affecting the generality of the work, i.e. compilation of study material inculcating the latest case laws, enactments, bills, articles, research papers, fact sheets etc. for the Academy, the Research Scholar shall perform the following duties under the direct control of the Director and/or other officer(s) of the Academy:

1. To research various subjects of daily use for seminars/workshops, conferences etc.
2. To carry out research work on streamlining various judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Hon’ble High Courts.
3. To do such academic, research and other work as may be directed by the Rajasthan State Judicial Academy.

Duty hours, attendance and leave

• The daily working hours shall be as per the calendar of the Academy; on the days of seminars, workshops, conferences etc. the duty hours shall be as directed by the Director, RSJA.
• A Research Scholar shall be entitled to one casual leave on completion of one calendar month, and unavailed casual leave will accumulate up to the calendar year. There will be no other leave of any nature whatsoever.
• The Director, Rajasthan State Judicial Academy shall be the competent authority to sanction leave.
• Proportionate reduction of honorarium shall be made for unauthorised absence, and also for absence beyond the permissible period of leave.

Selection process

• Applications will be scrutinised by the Rajasthan State Judicial Academy under the directions of the Hon’ble Chairman, RSJA.
• The selection shall be made by a Selection Committee constituted by the Hon’ble Chairman, RSJA, consisting of two Hon’ble Sitting Judges of the Rajasthan High Court and one Academician (Professor at Law).
• Shortlisting may be done on the basis of research achievements, academic career and computer skills of the incumbents. The Selection Committee shall assess the suitability of applicants after interviewing the candidates, considering their research/academic record as well as language communication and computer skills.
• Selected candidates shall be intimated personally and the list shall be published on the official website of the Rajasthan State Judicial Academy and the Rajasthan High Court.

Disqualification

• A candidate must not have more than one wedded spouse, nor should be married to a person who already had a living spouse at that time.
• A candidate should not be involved in any criminal case, either convicted or against whom criminal trial is pending.
• A candidate must not be debarred from examination or rusticated from any institute, authority or public service commission.
• A candidate must not be medically unfit.

Application fee

Every candidate shall pay Rs.100/- as fee through Demand Draft or Postal Order drawn in the name of Director, Rajasthan State Judicial Academy.
