Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway invited online applications for recruitment against the Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2026-27 in Level 1 & Level 2 of Pay Matrix (7th CPC) vide Employment Notification No. RRC/NR 01/2026/S&G dated 04.11.2026.

The posts are open to all communities and there is no reservation; SC/ST/OBC candidates get age relaxation as admissible in open market recruitment. Candidates may apply for both levels with separate application and fee; separate examinations will be held (tentatively same day, two shifts).
Eligibility
- Scouting qualification (all): President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalaya Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section; active member of a Scouts organisation for the last 5 years (certificate as per Annexure-I); attended two events at National level or All India Railway level and two events at State level.
- Level 2: Passed 12th (+2 stage) with not less than 50% aggregate (50% not insisted for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen and candidates with higher qualification); OR Matriculation plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (Technician categories); OR Matriculation plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT.
- Level 1: 10th pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT; OR 10th pass plus ITI; OR 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or NAC granted by NCVT.

Examination Fee

Selection Process
- Written examination (CBT/TBT) of 60 minutes: 40 objective questions (40 marks) + 1 essay (20 marks) on Scouts & Guides organisation and general knowledge, plus marks on certificates (40 marks) ??? total 100 marks.
- Negative marking: 1/3 of the marks allotted for the question for every wrong answer.
- Minimum 40% in written examination to qualify (relaxation for reserved categories as per Railway Board rules); candidates called for Document Verification equal to 5 times the notified vacancies.
- Written examination and Document Verification will be held in Delhi only.
