The Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University (RLBCAU), Jhansi has released Advertisement No. RLBCAU/05/2026 dated 20.08.2026 for recruitment to 7 contractual positions (8 vacancies) — Junior Research Assistant, Lab Assistant/Project Assistant, Young Professional-I & Young Professional-II — through Walk-in Interview. These are project-funded / University-funded positions. Interviews will be held on 07 to 10 September 2026 at the University campus, Near Pahuj Dam, Gwalior Road, Jhansi-284003.

Vacancy & Interview Details

Post-wise Eligibility Criteria

1. Junior Research Assistant (JRA)

• Essential: M.Sc. (Ag.) Plant Pathology / M.Sc. Botany with specialization in Plant Pathology or equivalent degree with high academic attainment and 1st class in Graduate and Post Graduate examinations. Candidates with higher qualifications may also apply.
• Desirable: Experience in Mushroom Cultivation.
• Residency: The applicant should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh only.
• Age: Upper age limit 28 years as on 1st April 2026.

2. Lab Assistant / Project Assistant

• Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural sciences.
• Desirable: Experience in research lab and field experiments with computer knowledge; candidates having Masters in Genetics and Plant Breeding.
• Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 50 years as on date of Interview.

3 & 4. Young Professional-II

• Essential (Post 3): M.Sc. in Agricultural Biotechnology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Agricultural Biochemistry / Molecular Biology & Biotechnology / Agriculture Chemistry / Agrochemicals & Pest Management / Analytical chemistry and allied science / Chemistry and allied science.
• Experience (Post 3): Working experience on LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS instruments.
• Essential (Post 4): M.Sc. (Ag.), M.Sc./M.Tech. in Food Science & Technology / Engineering from a recognized University.
• Desirable (Post 4): Knowledge of working in food processing, quality control and microbiological analysis in Lab with minimum 2 years of experience; handling MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IT Tools).
• Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years as on date of Interview (relaxation as per govt. rules: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PH).

5. Young Professional-I (Centre of Excellence on Nutri-Cereals)

• Essential: M.Sc. Agriculture from a recognized University.
• Desirable: M.Sc. Agronomy / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Soil Science / Biochemistry / PHT / Biotechnology; good knowledge of conducting field & laboratory experiments with at least 2 years of research experience; knowledge in field data handling, management, and report writing.
• Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years as on date of Interview (relaxation as per govt. rules).

6. Young Professional-II (UPCAR Carbon Credit Project)

• Essential: Masters Degree in Forestry / Agroforestry / Forest Resource Management / Life Science / Remote Sensing.
• Desirable: Experience in Agroforestry inventory, biomass estimation, carbon stock assessment, and field data collection; experience in processing and analyzing satellite data (Sentinel, Landsat, Planet Scope, etc.) for land use/land cover, vegetation, and carbon mapping; at least two research publications in SCI/Scopus/UGC-CARE indexed journals; good communication, technical documentation, and presentation skills.
• Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years as on date of Interview (relaxation as per govt. rules).

7. Young Professional-I (Directorate of Education)

• Essential: Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Science, Commerce, or Computer/IT/Engineering) or a Diploma in Engineering/Technology.
• Desirable Skills: Working knowledge of computer applications, specifically MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), data entry, record digitization.
• Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years as on date of Interview (relaxation as per govt. rules).

Important Dates

Selection Process

• Selection through Walk-in Interview only.
• Candidates having essential qualifications will only be considered for the interview.
• No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview.

Terms & Conditions

• Candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility (age, qualification, etc.) before appearing for the interview.
• Appointment will be made purely on ad-hoc basis for a period of one year or termination of the project, whichever is earlier. Based on performance, engagement may be extended following prescribed norms.
• Selected candidates have no right to claim regularization or absorption whatsoever in RLBCAU, Jhansi.
• The decision of the competent authority of the institute will be final and binding in all aspects.
• The competent authority reserves the right to terminate the contract even before completion of the project, for which no appeal shall be made.
• The selected candidate will be required to produce a medical certificate at the time of joining.
