Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal invites applications through online mode only from eligible and interested candidates for appointment to the posts of Assistant Professor in the Departments of Dermatology and Psychiatry. 2 posts are advertised – Assistant Professor of Dermatology (1, unreserved) and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry (1, unreserved) – in Pay Level 11, Cell 4 of the 7th CPC.

Age limit

• Upper age limit – 45 years as on 30.11.2026.
• Age relaxation – Government employee 5 years; PwD 10 years.
• No age relaxation is available to OBC/SC/ST candidates, as the posts are unreserved.
• Date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation or Secondary Examination certificate only will be accepted for determining age; no subsequent request for change will be considered.

Qualification and experience

• Dermatology – M.D. (Derm. & Ven.) / M.D. (Derm., Ven. & Leprosy) / M.D. (Dermatology) / M.D. (Derm. including Ven.) / M.D. (Derm. including Ven./Lap.), or M.D. (Medicine) with DVD or D.D.
• Psychiatry – M.D. (Psychiatry) / M.D. (Psychological Medicine) / M.D. (Medicine) with a diploma in Psychological Medicine.
• Teaching / research experience – requisite recognised postgraduate qualification in the subject, and three years of teaching experience in the subject in a recognised Medical College as Resident / Registrar / Demonstrator / Tutor.

Application fee

• Rs.1,000, non-refundable, paid through online mode.
• Exempted for PwD candidates.
• Applications without the prescribed fee will not be considered and will be summarily rejected.
• The fee is not refunded unless the recruitment process is cancelled.

General conditions

• The crucial date for determining eligibility with respect to essential qualifications and experience is the closing date for submission of application forms.
• Candidates must upload self-attested documents and certificates in support of all claims – date of birth certificate, original educational qualification certificates (provisional certificates older than one year from the last date of submission will not be accepted), experience, and research and publication works. Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.
• Candidates working in Government, Semi-Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Institutions must submit a No Objection Certificate from the parent organisation at the time of submission of the application form if possible; otherwise proof of application for the NOC must be enclosed. In any case the NOC must be submitted at the time of interview, and failure to do so by the due date will lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
