RGCB Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) – Adv. 09/2026
Applications are invited from suitable candidates (Indian Citizens) for one position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in the ICMR/MAHA MedTech-funded project titled "An AI-Integrated Ultrasensitive Nanopore Sensing System for Non-invasive Early Detection of Cervical Cancer", to work in the Laboratories of Dr. Jackson James, Scientist G and Dr. Ani V Das, Senior Program Scientist, RGCB Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Essential Qualification
- First Class Post-Graduate Degree (M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Pharm or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics or allied biological disciplines, including integrated PG degrees.
Desirable Qualifications
- Technical experience: hands-on experience in advanced molecular biology techniques, particularly nucleic acid handling, RNA extraction, and working with clinical samples (blood, tissues, biofluids).
- Specialised skills and microfluidics: prior demonstrable experience in small RNA isolation, protocol optimisation, RT-qPCR assay development, and working with microfluidic platforms for automated nucleic acid processing, lab-on-a-chip applications, or single-cell/sample isolation.
- Data analysis: familiarity with biostatistical software, data normalisation techniques, and bioinformatics tools used for gene/ncRNA expression profiling.
