The Directorate of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies (RD, PRIs & ULBs), Andaman & Nicobar Administration invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement of 01 (one) post of Assistant Engineer on purely contractual basis under the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] at the Office of the Block Development Officer (Sr. Programme Officer, VB-G RAM G), Nancowry, Nicobar District.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University with computer knowledge.

Desirable Qualification: (a) Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University; (b) One year working experience in the respective field.

Job Description / Duties

• Technical Planning & Estimation – preparation of technical estimates, designs and drawings for VB-G RAM G permissible works (roads, CC paths, drains, water conservation, land development, etc.).
• Execution & Supervision of Works – field supervision of VB-G RAM G works at various stages to ensure quality and adherence to approved estimates.
• Measurement & Quality Control – recording measurements in Measurement Books (MBs) accurately and timely; certifying completed quantities for wage and material payments.
• Monitoring & Reporting – regular monitoring of ongoing works and submission of progress reports.
• Any other works assigned from time to time by the competent authority.

Selection Process

The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the weightage for educational qualifications, desirable qualifications, computer knowledge and relevant experience as prescribed in the notice. Top candidates from the auto merit list will be considered for engagement.
