- Indian nationals; age must not exceed 45 years as on the closing date, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules in force
- Medical qualification included in Schedule I & II or Part III of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956; candidates with Part-II qualifications must also fulfil Section 13(3) of the Act
- Post-graduate qualification as specified for each specialty, with one year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognised institution after MD/DNB where prescribed
- Post-graduate training or teaching experience in a department not recognised by the National Medical Commission for PG medical education will not count for faculty appointment
- Application fee Rs.2,500 (Rs.1,000 for SC/ST) by demand draft drawn in favour of the Director, Regional Cancer Centre, payable at SBI Medical College Branch, Thiruvananthapuram
