Puducherry Technological University, Pillaichavady, Puducherry-605014 (a State University of the Government of Puducherry, erstwhile Pondicherry Engineering College) invites applications in the prescribed form from eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Registrar. Notification No. PTU/REG/RECRUITMENT/2026/1087 dated 21.09.2026.

- Scale of pay – Rs.1,44,200 (Level 14) [PB-4 Rs.37,400–67,000 with Grade Pay Rs.10,000 under the 6th CPC]

- Method of recruitment – By selection on tenure basis
- Term – 3 years. The Registrar shall be eligible for re-appointment for one more term only, subject to approval of the Board of Governors. After completion of the tenure the incumbent shall revert to his/her parent organization.
Eligibility conditions (Ordinance-II of PTU)
- Professor (AGP Rs.10,000/-) / Administrator in the rank of Professor with at least three years of administrative experience. And
- Educational qualification – Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever a grading system is followed.
The eligibility conditions, emoluments and terms and conditions of service of the Registrar are as per Ordinance-II of Puducherry Technological University, published in the Supplement to the Gazette of Puducherry No. 32 dated 12.08.2025, with a Corrigendum published in the Gazette of Puducherry No. 33 dated 19.08.2025.
Deputation
In case of recruitment by deputation, persons under the Central/State Governments/Universities/Educational Institutions of higher learning/Statutory or Semi-Government/Autonomous organizations/Public Sector Undertakings holding analogous posts in the scale and possessing the educational qualification laid down above are eligible. The period of deputation shall be three years.
