PGIMER Project Technical Support-III (MLT/Phlebotomist) Recruitment 2026 – 2 Posts
Department of Nephrology, PGIMER Chandigarh invites applications for 02 posts of Project Technical Support-III (Medical Laboratory Technology) / Phlebotomist on a purely contractual basis under the research project titled "Building a healthier future: Artificial intelligence-based early diagnosis of chronic kidney disease through retinal images".

Eligibility Criteria

| Essential Qualifications | Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) from a recognised university/institution |
| Essential Experience | Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in blood sample collection and handling in a clinical or laboratory setting; demonstrated competence in venepuncture and in processing and preparing specimens for analysis; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) |
| Desirable Qualifications | PG degree/diploma in MLT or related discipline; experience of sample collection in community/field settings and at screening camps; experience of handling renal function and CKD-related investigations (serum creatinine, eGFR, urine albumin-creatinine ratio); familiarity with cold-chain maintenance, sample transport, aliquoting, biobanking and sample tracking/barcoding systems; prior experience in externally funded research project and with electronic data capture tools (REDCap/ODK); training in biosafety, biomedical waste management and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice; willingness to undertake field travel; working knowledge of Hindi/Punjabi/Kannada |
Job Responsibilities
- Collection of blood and urine samples from study participants at the institute, in OPD/dialysis settings, and at screening camps and field sites, as per the study protocol.
- Processing, aliquoting, barcoding/labelling and preparation of specimens for biochemical analysis and long-term storage.
- Maintenance of the cold chain during storage and transport of samples between field sites and the laboratory.
- Coordination with the laboratory for timely analysis of renal function and related investigations, and retrieval and recording of reports.
- Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date sample tracking registers, laboratory inventory and participants' records in the study database.
- Assisting the site team in participant recruitment, informed consent documentation, recording of anthropometry and vitals, and follow-up visits.
- Ensuring biosafety practices and proper biomedical waste disposal as per institutional and statutory norms.
- Ensuring adherence to the study protocol, ICMR ethical guidelines, Good Clinical Practice and data confidentiality requirements.

Chandigarh & Hubballi, Karnataka (with travel to field sites as required)

- The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
- No claim for regular/permanent employment will be entertained.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- The decision of the competent authority will be final.
- All educational qualification certificates must be from a recognised Board/University.
- Experience will be counted only after the date of completion of the minimum essential qualification and shall preferably have been gained in a Government organisation.
- Age relaxation of up to 5 years may be granted, on a case-to-case basis, to candidates having experience of working in a Government research organisation.
- The engagement is governed by the ICMR guidelines for Non-Institutional Project Human Resource Positions (as amended vide No. 16/29/2023/Admn dated 18.10.2024).
