OPTCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 100 Degree, Diploma and ITI Apprentice Posts

Overview

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), a Government of Odisha Undertaking, has invited applications for the engagement of 100 Graduate, Diploma, and ITI Trade Apprentices for a one-year apprenticeship under Advertisement No. OPTCL-14013/9/2026-T AND D – Part (1) - 14389, dated 29.08.2026. Eligible candidates who are Odisha domiciles and aged 18 years or above can apply online at optcl.co.in from 2 September 2026 to 1 October 2026, after first registering on the NATS/NAPS portal.

The number of vacancies against each trade/discipline may change (increase or decrease) as per the requirement of the corporation. Unfilled seats in a specific discipline may be filled from other disciplines within the same apprenticeship type.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The prescribed qualification must be from a recognised Board/Council/University/Institute, completed as a regular full-time course. For Non-Engineering Apprentices, graduation in non-engineering disciplines such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, or BBA, or equivalent, is preferred.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Only Indian nationals belonging to the state of Odisha are eligible to apply.
• Candidates must have the minimum physical standard prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, and amendments thereof.
• Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, or who have job experience of one year or more, are not eligible.
• Candidates must hold the passing certificate or final year marksheet of the required qualification as on 01.07.2026.
• The gap between the date of joining the Apprenticeship Training and the date of passing the essential qualifying examination must not be more than 3 years, and the qualifying examination must have been passed during Academic Year 2023-24, 2024-25, or 2025-26.
• Candidates must be registered on the NAPS/NATS portal, and their bank account must be Aadhaar-seeded for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the stipend.

Age Limit

Candidates should not be less than 18 years of age as on 01.08.2026. No maximum age limit is specified in the notification.

Stipend

OPTCL will pay 50% of the stipend to Degree Engineering, Diploma Technician, and Degree Non-Engineering Apprentices, with the remaining 50% paid by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOPT) through DBT. Apprentices are entitled to the stipend from the start of the online contract date, subject to satisfactory performance.

Application Fee

No application fee is required for this recruitment.

Selection Process

• Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit, written test, or interview, as required for the respective discipline.
• No TA/DA or other expenses will be paid to candidates for attending document verification or interview.
• If at any stage of the selection process, a candidate is found to have furnished false or incorrect information, the candidature or engagement is liable to be cancelled.
• The decision of the Management of OPTCL is final and binding on all candidates on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the application, mode of selection, and cancellation of the selection process (in part or full).

Period of Apprenticeship Training

• The apprenticeship training period is one year (12 months), commencing from the online contract date.
• It is not obligatory for OPTCL to offer employment to any apprentice who has completed their apprenticeship, nor can an apprentice claim a right to employment on the ground of having completed the Apprenticeship Training.
• Training will be provided at different units and offices of OPTCL across Odisha; no accommodation or allowance in lieu of accommodation will be provided.

1. Register on NATS/NAPS portal: Degree Engineering (Electrical, IT, Telecom), Diploma (Electrical, Telecom, Civil), and Degree Non-Engineering (HR, Finance, Law) aspirants must register on the NATS 2.0 portal at nats.education.gov.in. ITI Trade apprentices must register on the NAPS portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
2. Apply on OPTCL website: After generating the registration/enrolment number from the NATS/NAPS portal, visit www.optcl.co.in and navigate to HRD Section and click Training and Development and click Advertisement for Engagement of Apprentices 2026 and click Apply Online.
3. Follow the detailed procedure: The full step-by-step application procedure is uploaded on the Apply Online page of the OPTCL website.
4. Ensure your Aadhaar is seeded with your bank account for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the stipend.
5. Submit the application on or before 01.10.2026.

Important Instructions

• Incomplete or erroneous applications will be rejected without further communication.
• Educational, personal, bank account, and Aadhaar card details must be entered correctly in the candidate profile on the respective apprenticeship portal login; any discrepancy at any stage will render the candidate ineligible.
• Canvassing or pressuring through any source will disqualify the candidature.
