- Advertisement: Advt. No. 06 of 2026-27 (Ref. No. 1E-24-2025/26 [DR-I]), Dt. 18.07.2026, OPSC - recruitment to the posts of Assistant Horticulture Officer in Class-II (Group-B) of Odisha Horticulture Service under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Government of Odisha.
- Total Vacancies: 22 Posts (07 for Women). Category-wise: UR 06 (02-W), SC 07 (02-W), ST 09 (03-W). Besides, 01 post is reserved for PwD (permanent disability 40% or more) and 01 post for Ex-Servicemen, which shall be adjusted against the categories to which they belong.
- Age Limit (as on 15.01.2026): Minimum 21 years and maximum 42 years (born not earlier than 02.01.1984 and not later than 15.01.2005). Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen, 10 years for PwD (40% or more), cumulative 15 years for PwD belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Educational Qualification: B.Sc. (Horticulture) or B.Sc. (Agriculture) from any University/Institution recognized by any State Government or the Government of India. No other equivalent qualification will be accepted.
- Pay Scale: Level-10, Cell-1 of ORSP Rules, 2017 (pre-revised PB-2 Rs. 9,300-34,800 + Grade Pay Rs. 4,600) with usual DA and other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time. Posts are temporary and likely to continue.
- Selection Process: Written Examination (MCQ pattern, 200 Marks - 2 Papers of 100 marks each with 100 questions, 2 hours duration each, 25% negative marking for wrong answers) followed by Personality Test/Interview of 25 Marks. Final merit on aggregate out of 225 Marks.
- Examination Centres: Cuttack and Bhubaneswar (as per number of candidates applied). Programme notified in advance.
- Application Fee: Rs. 700/- online (other than SC/ST/PwD). SC/ST/PwD candidates are exempted. Fee refunded to candidates actually appearing in both papers of Written Examination.
- Other Conditions: Must be a citizen of India; able to read, write and speak Odia (Middle School/Matriculation/Class-VII Odia or Odia Test pass); sound mental and physical health; NOC required for Government servants.
How to Apply: Candidates must apply ONLINE only through the e-Chayan portal of the Commission at https://opsc.gov.in from 28.07.2026 to 28.08.2026 till 5:00 PM (last date/closing date for submission of registered online application). Register to obtain a Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN), fill the proforma application, upload scanned photograph, signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression (LTI) along with required certificates, and pay the examination fee online (except SC/ST/PwD). Applications through any other mode will be summarily rejected. Candidates are advised to submit the application well in advance to avoid last hour rush.
