ONGC Assam Asset Well Services Consultant Recruitment 2026 – 20 Posts
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Office of Head Well Services, Assam Asset, Sivasagar, invites applications from qualified and experienced retired ONGC personnel of Production and Drilling disciplines for engagement as Associate Consultant and Junior Consultant on contract basis, to be posted as competent persons in round-the-clock shifts on charter hired and O&M operated workover rigs (Advertisement No. ASSAM/WS/CONSLT-2026-27).

The compensation package is inclusive of service tax, which is to be borne by the individual. ONGC reserves the right to vary the number of positions depending on the availability of sufficient applicants.
Eligibility Criteria
- Retired ONGC personnel from Production and Drilling disciplines.
- At least 10 years of experience in Work Over/Drilling operations.
- Associate Consultant: E4/E5 level (E6 level retired employees may also be considered, with remuneration capped at E5 level, based on their explicit consent, if sufficient E3-E5 candidates are not available).
- Junior Consultant: up to E3 level.

Period of Engagement
The engagement is purely on contract basis for 02 years – initially for one year, and an additional one year subject to satisfactory performance in the first year and existence of requirement. Engagement is subject to medical fitness by the ONGC Medical Authority.
- Duty is in round-the-clock shifts on workover rigs operating in Assam Asset, in a 12-hour duty pattern; extended hours/holidays may be required without additional payment.
- One day paid leave for every completed month of duty (equivalent to 2 days for Junior/Associate Consultants posted as competent person, due to the on/off nature of duty); leave is calculated on pro-rata basis and lapses on completion of tenure, with no encashment.
- 80% of the monthly honorarium and phone-charge reimbursement is paid monthly; the remaining 20% is paid after assessment of performance at the end of the engagement period and on completion of assigned tasks.
- An annual increment of 5% on the monthly honorarium part is given if the tenure is extended to the second year.
- No other benefits/allowances admissible to regular employees; no financial power; no right to claim regular employment in ONGC.
- Engaged personnel must make their own arrangements for stay in Assam Asset.
Selection Process
A written test and interview will be held at a designated ONGC office in Sivasagar, Assam. The exact dates and venue will be intimated to shortlisted candidates by email only. Candidates must make their own arrangements to attend and no TA/DA will be reimbursed.
