- MSc (Geology/Applied Geology) or MTech (Geology/Applied Geology), minimum 2 years duration, from a Govt-recognized university/institute.
- Desirable: knowledge of economic geology/mineral deposits/ore genesis; publications; field geological mapping/mineral resource estimation in mineralized zones; mining-related industry experience.

- Contract emoluments: ₹60,000/month (fixed+variable, as per notification) + incidental ₹500/day for actual days worked outside place of posting.
