Oil India Limited Contractual Geologist Recruitment 2026 – Critical Minerals Programme
Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, invites eligible Indian nationals for walk-in interviews for engagement purely on a contractual basis under the Critical Mineral Exploration Programme, for placement at Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh under the Centre of Excellence for Energy Studies (CoEES), Guwahati, Assam. The engagement is purely temporary and involves shift work in remote/far-flung OIL installations and on “On-Call” duty.

Eligibility
- Essential qualification: M.Sc. (Geology / Applied Geology) or M.Tech (Geology / Applied Geology) of minimum two years duration from a Government recognised University/Institute.
- Age limit (as on the date of registration for the walk-in interview): minimum 18 years; maximum 40 years for General and 43 years for OBC (NCL).
- Desirable: in-depth knowledge of Economic Geology, mineral deposits and ore genesis relevant to exploration and exploitation of mineral resources; publications in reputed journals/conference proceedings; experience in field geological mapping and mineral/resource estimation; prior work experience in mining-related industries preferred.
Emoluments
₹60,000/- per month (total contract emoluments comprising fixed and variable components), plus ₹500/- per day incidental for the actual number of days worked for OIL outside the place of posting.

The initial contract is for 01 year, extendable by another 01 year depending on departmental requirement, performance and conduct; the maximum total period is 02 years. Selection is through a walk-in interview of 100 marks with a minimum qualifying score of 50 for all categories; final selection is on merit.
