District Court Sonepur Recruitment 2026 – Jr Clerk, Jr Typist & Stenographer Grade‑III – 15 Posts

The Office of the District Judge, Sonepur (Odisha) invites applications in the prescribed format from eligible candidates for the following posts in the Judgeship of Sonepur: Jr. Clerk‑cum‑Copyist (8 posts), Junior Typist (3 posts) and Stenographer Grade‑III (4 posts). The posts carry the usual pay matrix as per ORSP Rules, 2017 along with D.A. and other allowances as admissible to State Govt. employees.

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Citizen of India.
• Age Limit: Not below 18 years and not above 42 years as on 31 Aug 2026 (relaxable for reserved categories as per rules).
• Educational Qualification: Must have passed at least +3 examination or its equivalent from a recognized university.
• Computer Qualification: Must possess a Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) from a recognized institute.
• Language: Must be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have passed a test in Odia equivalent to the M.E. standard.
• Typing / Shorthand Speed (post‑specific):
  • Junior Typist – minimum 40 wpm in Typewriting.
  • Stenographer Grade‑III – minimum 80 wpm in Shorthand and 40 wpm in Typewriting.
• Character & Health: Good character, sound health, free from organic defects or bodily infirmity.
• Marital Status: Candidate should not have more than one spouse living, if married.

Examination Fee

No examination fee is required to be paid by the candidate.

Scheme of Examination

Selection will be through a competitive examination comprising written test, computer‑science practical test and viva‑voce, as applicable to each post. Detailed syllabus is provided in the official advertisement (PDF).

(a) Jr. Clerk‑cum‑Copyist

• Part‑I: English (100 marks, 2 hrs), Arithmetic (100 marks, 1 hr), General Knowledge (100 marks, 1 hr)
• Part‑II: Computer Science (Practical) – 100 marks, 1 hr
• Part‑III: Viva‑Voce – 45 marks

(b) Junior Typist

• Part‑I: English (Qualifying) – 100 marks, 2 hrs
• Part‑II: Type Test through computer – 50 marks
• Part‑III: Computer Science (Practical) – 100 marks, 1 hr
• Part‑IV: Viva‑Voce – 35 marks

(c) Stenographer Grade‑III

• Part‑I: English (Qualifying) – 100 marks, 2 hrs
• Part‑II: Shorthand & Type Test through computer – 50 marks
• Part‑III: Computer Science (Practical) – 100 marks, 1 hr
• Part‑IV: Viva‑Voce – 35 marks

How to Apply

1. Download the application format (Form‑A) from the official website https://sonepur.dcourts.gov.in or refer to the advertisement PDF.
2. Fill the form in your own handwriting, attach self‑attested copies of all required documents (HSC/+2/+3 certificates & mark sheets, DCA certificate, typing/shorthand certificates where applicable, caste/category certificate, character certificates, photograph, two self‑addressed envelopes with Rs. 56 postal stamp, etc.).
3. Send the completed application by Speed Post / Courier or deliver in person to “The Office of the District Judge, Sonepur” so that it reaches by 5:00 P.M. on 31 Aug 2026.
4. Write the name of the post applied for in CAPITAL letters on the top of the envelope and on the application.

Important Instructions

• Incomplete or defective applications or those received after the due date shall be summarily rejected.
• Separate applications must be submitted for separate posts.
